Help please -- down to the wire!

I’m having my baby in two weeks…a little sister for M@eve K@thryn. I have narrowed the name down to two and really need some help deciding.

The choices are:

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] Phi11ips (nn [name_f]Liddie[/name_f])
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] Phi11ips (nn [name_f]Fina[/name_f])

middle name is set on [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] (it’s my mother’s maiden name)

Please choose and give reasons for your choice if possible! Thank you!

I think [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] are really beautiful and playful together. They’re both more unusual choices than [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. I’ve never cared for the sound of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], either. [name_f]Fina[/name_f] is an adorable nickname.

[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] would be my choice. It goes well with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and sounds good with your last name.

[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] are adorable together and the nn [name_f]Fina[/name_f] is really cute too!

I personally don’t care for Seraphina with Maeve. Sounds like children from 2 different families.

Lydia and Maeve sounds like they would fit well and Lyddie is adorable with Maeve.

What about softening the flow by naming her Lydia Kelly-Anne? Congrats! :0

I prefer [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]/[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] to [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]/[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] as I find the latter a bit mismatched. Plus I think [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] flows better and the nn [name_f]Liddie[/name_f] is so adorable.
I think I second the Kellyann/Kellyanne suggestion as well. Very pretty names either way though!

I love [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] and the sibset [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is gorgeous however, I like the flow of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] Phi11ips more than [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] Phi11ips, which has the F sounds a little close for my liking

I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] better with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], and it has a much nicer flow with the surname than [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] because it sounds better with you last name and fits much better with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] both evoke images os spunky little girls and accomplished women. Serephina is much more frilly, delicate, and airy.

I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] better with sister’s name and last name, but I like Serephina more outright. [name_f]Fina[/name_f] and [name_f]Liddie[/name_f] are equally adorable. Since you have two solid options, maybe let [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] pick her sister’s name? (Or your husband or mother?)

[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u]

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]… I think [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is spunkier while [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is sweeter! [name_m]Both[/name_m] sound nice. Tough decision!

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] make a better sibset since they are both a bit different. However, I dislike [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] with your last name because of the double ph sound.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is my pick.

Another vote for [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] here. I prefer the flow to [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] (just sounds a bit harsh to me), and I love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] paired with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] – they sound like lovely little sisters from the British Isles.

I agree with pps about adding [name_f]Anne[/name_f] in. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f] Phi11ips has a lovely flow. But if you’re set on just [name_u]Kelly[/name_u], don’t think too much about it. It’s lovely. Good luck!

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] are a great sister pairing [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. They are both timeless, classic and fun names that work well on babies onto adulthood. I am biased since we named our daughter [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lydie[/name_f]). People rave about her name. I have had multiple people say they wish they would have thought of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] when naming their daughters!

I prefer the name [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] to [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] but I don’t like the repetitive " f " sounds in [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] Phi11ips and visually the two p’s bother me too. [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] also seems quite long and frilly compared to older sister [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] Phi11ips is a bit abrupt with the hard “d” and “p” sounds but I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] look more balanced together.

[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to…

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Liddie[/name_f]! (I think I would also keep the Y from [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] in the nn, as in Lyddie.)

This is all so helpful, thank you! The ph repeating sound as been bothering me a bit too, but I slightly prefer it to [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. It’s a tough choice…I might just have to meet her!

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] don’t really gel well with each other. Also, the name doesn’t really go with [name_u]Kelly[/name_u].

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] seem like they would go well together perfectly! And [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] goes much better with [name_u]Kelly[/name_u].

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] isn’t one of my favourite names, but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the sibset of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]!
IMHO I don’t think [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] should be used with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. They are very different in sound, syllables, style and don’t flow well as a sibset, I’d honestly question the mother’s naming decision.
