Ok, I’ve recently posted a thread on honoring certain people.

My aunt is Meridee, which I forgot to include. She is someone I’d really like to honor.

I really like the name [name]Merida[/name], and I don’t care how popular it gets with the movie Brave.
I’d also like to honor my grandmother, [name]Marilyn[/name] [name]Sandra[/name] or great grandmother, [name]Mary[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name], by using their initials.

The ‘S’ names I like are:

[name]Sinead[/name]
[name]Saoirse[/name]
[name]Seren[/name] and [name]Story[/name], though I’m not so sure about it.

The ‘E’ names I like are:

[name]Ember[/name], though I’m not sure on this either.
[name]Enid[/name], [name]Edith[/name], [name]Estrid[/name] and [name]Elle[/name] are on my maybe this, but I fear that they are too ‘old’ or popular. ([name]Elle[/name])
Any more ‘E’ names you think would tickle my fancy?

I would like to honor my brother, [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Quinn[/name], and I love the name [name]Quinn[/name], but only for a girl.

Also, my mother, [name]Sharon[/name] Lucelle. I don’t care for any [name]Luc[/name]- names as far as I know. If you could come up with and ‘S’ name that sounds like [name]Sharon[/name], then I would be happy to put it as a middle name with [name]Merida[/name].

ALSO: I do like double-barrel middle names, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

[name]Merida[/name] is such a pretty name and the movie/character are amazing! [name]Love[/name] it! Um, the only thing I’ll say about the middle names is in regards to [name]Seven[/name]. I don’t know if you put it on the list as a Seinfeld reference or because you’re trying to be original or what but the supposed shock value of this name had totally with off and now it just sounds tired and like you’re trying to hard. I hope that didn’t come off as super harsh because it’s not my intention to be rude or anything.

I kind of like [name]Sharona[/name], but I’m conflicted about it. I definitely don’t like it as much as I like [name]Saoirse[/name] or [name]Sinead[/name], which I like a lot.

It does make me think of the very pretty old-fashioned flowering shrub [name]Rose[/name] of [name]Sharon[/name]… but I think [name]Rose[/name] is a bit tame for you? [name]Shoshana[/name] ties in kind of nicely… it means rose or lily. It is the name [name]Susannah[/name] is a translation of, but I’m torn on going with the [name]Susannah[/name] for familiarity when the [name]Sharon[/name] seems to tie more nicely to [name]Shoshana[/name]?

Honestly the Sh- sound on [name]Sinead[/name] is pretty good for that, [name]Merida[/name] [name]Sinead[/name] would be very pretty.

[name]Enid[/name] is sort of oddly appealing. I love [name]Ember[/name]. Have you considered [name]Esther[/name] amongst your old lady chic names? There’s also [name]Emerald[/name], which edges out [name]Ember[/name] slightly for me because of some maybe-silly reasons: 1) I love green 2) Further from [name]Amber[/name], which isn’t really my thing 3) supposedly represents love 4) kind of ties to Gaelic names with the whole [name]Emerald[/name] [name]Isle[/name] thing.

[name]Emerald[/name] translates to [name]Esmeralda[/name], which I also love, and [name]Esme[/name] feels a little younger than [name]Enid[/name] or [name]Edith[/name] to me… though my favourite [name]Esme[/name] in fiction is herself an old witch. (Discworld!) But she’s a cool old witch, dang it.

I think my other E choices might be a bit more out there.

For S I like [name]Saffron[/name] a whole lot more than I like [name]Seven[/name], no offense.

Ok, I’ll answer each question separately:

1: Yeah I’ve never been a fan of [name]Rose[/name], I mean, its pretty, but its SO common!
2: I know two people called [name]Susannah[/name], and I also a [name]Shoshana[/name]. :frowning: [name]Shoshana[/name] is an awesome name, but I wouldn’t used it.
3: I have considered [name]Esther[/name], but I know SO many!!
4: Seriously, I know a lot of people. [name]Esme[/name] is just a few of them. :slight_smile:
5: Yeah, I don’t no why I posted [name]Seven[/name], and come to think of it, I’ll edit it off. :slight_smile: Really like [name]Emerald[/name] and [name]Saffron[/name] BTW, just wouldn’t use them.
