Due to pregnancy complications, our second baby could be born anywhere from now-ish to [name_f]September[/name_f].
Big brother is [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m].
I’ve made posts before and had lists aplenty but we haven’t found The One and need some fresh opinions on our list.
Obviously not knowing the time frame of our arrival is stressing me, I just want to have THE name ready.
Names I think make a nice sib-set with [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] but I don’t think they “suit us” or are “right” if that makes any sense:
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_m]Louis[/name_m]
Like, I LIKE these names, just not enough to use them. They’re just names, and while they sound good with [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], I don’t love them individually.
Names DH said absolute no to:
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] / [name_m]Harry[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
Names I like but DH doesn’t:
[name_m]Eric[/name_m]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
Only name DH loves:
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
I like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] too, but feel like maybe it doesn’t have enough “personality” or something. This is really hard to explain. [name_m]Just[/name_m] can’t help feeling we could do better.
Name I like but would only use as middle:
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
Please help. Any opinion or new suggestion is much appreciated.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this, i’m due in [name_u]August[/name_u] and only almost 21 weeks, so I can’t imagine how stressed you must be.
We are considering very similar names. I already have a [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] and a [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]. Names we have on our big list are:
and others we’d consider but are unusable by us
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]
Dashiel
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Tom[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_u]Max[/name_u]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
I think we are most likely going to go with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. Sometimes I think it’s difficult to imagine your baby with the name until they are here. I was unsure about [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], as I had never met one before. But now I can’t imagine him as anything else. You should love it though. I sympathise, i’m having so much trouble locking in a name for this baby.
Good luck with your little man. I hope he doesn’t make his arrival for a long time.
I think [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is perfect. Your husband loves it, you like it… If you give it to your son it’ll have tons of personality because you’ll associate it with him.
I do get what you mean. There are names I find bland and I think lack any sort of spunk or personality. But in my mind [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is not one of them.
Anyways, other ideas for [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]'s brother:
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_m]Walter[/name_m]
[name_m]Forrest[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Wilfred[/name_m]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!!
Another vote for [name_m]Archer[/name_m] - I think it’s closer in style to [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] than [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], while still retaining most of the same sounds (which will hopefully appeal to your husband)
Other ideas, including repeats of those from previous posts that I agree with:
Unfortunately, we can’t use [name_m]Archer[/name_m] due to a cousin. I’d use [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] even though it’s close in sound because kids inevitably develop nick names and I don’t think the two name would be too confusing said together on occasion.
I’m enjoying some of your other suggestions, like [name_m]Finian[/name_m], [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], [name_m]Callum[/name_m] and [name_m]Hamish[/name_m].
Thanks for your help guys, keep them coming if you can.
Okay, I’ve done some searching and decided I really, Like REALLY like [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m].
I’ll discuss with DH tonight but if my feelings don’t change, and we don’t discover anything new, I’d say it will be a toss between [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m].
What goes best with [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]?
I love [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], I’d use it in a heartbeat if I could. I think that actually goes much better with [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], it has a much more similar vibe.
I think [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] goes best with [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]. [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] are both very handsome!! You can’t go wrong with either. Good luck.
I love [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]! It goes great with [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] seems a bit stodgy by comparison, and also makes it seem like you’re going for a theme of US presidential surnames. My initial suggestion based on your first post was [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], and [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] gives me a very similar vibe.
I think both [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] go nicely with [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]. I will like [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] would be too “out there” for my tastes here in the U.K., but it is a lovely name. While completely different, they both compliment [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], but pull it into different directions.
