Help Revamp my Boys List?

I was talking to the hubs the other day and I finally got him to admit that he wanted a boy next time. We are probably going to start TTC this spring and it really bugs me that I don’t have my boys list together. I keep adding names, and I feel bored with the ones that have been there awhile. So, I guess I need help loving the old ones and and adding awesome new ones to give me a really solid boys list. I’ll start with the names that have been on my list the longest to the recently added…

[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Luca[/name]
[name]Judah[/name]
[name]Asa[/name]
[name]Apollo[/name]
[name]River[/name]
[name]Omri[/name]
[name]Lenox[/name]

Names I’m considering for middles…

[name]Harbor[/name]
[name]Valor[/name]
[name]Bay[/name]
[name]Vale[/name]
Obsidian
[name]Lake[/name]

[name]Asher[/name] - one of my favorites though it’s been getting popular. It’s a lovely old name that feels super modern. Also, [name]Silas[/name]
[name]Felix[/name] - I know a lot of people who don’t love this one but I think it’s fabulous! nn [name]Fox[/name]? Also, [name]Zane[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name] - I’m not fond of this one. I think either of [name]Captain[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] or of a girl I knew in college named [name]Morgan[/name]…so, overall not a great masculine connotation for me. What about? [name]Micah[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] - I adore the name [name]Luke[/name]/[name]Luc[/name], not sure I love [name]Luca[/name] but it’s a nice sound. Also, [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Judah[/name] - similar to [name]Asher[/name] though maybe not quite as modern feeling. Beautiful name, love nn [name]Jude[/name]. Also, [name]Vaughn[/name]
[name]Asa[/name] - I know 3 people with this name despite it being so unique, I understand the allure but I don’t really love it. What about? [name]Angus[/name] (nn [name]Gus[/name])
[name]Apollo[/name] - I love the idea of this one but I wouldn’t personally use it. nn [name]Pol[/name] is cool. I’d probably but it in the mn spot. What about? [name]Orion[/name]
[name]River[/name] - lovely sound, I wouldn’t use it as a boys first name. What about? [name]Raleigh[/name]
[name]Omri[/name] - I’ve never heard this as a name but it does have a pleasant sound. What about? Merit
[name]Lenox[/name] - I’d spell it [name]Lennox[/name] (nn [name]Knox[/name]), but I do like this one a lot. Also, [name]Hudson[/name].

Names I’m considering for middles…

[name]Harbor[/name] - okay, What about? [name]Banks[/name]
[name]Valor[/name] - love this one. Also, [name]Vesper[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] - I like this one, Also, [name]Reef[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] - love! Also, [name]Hale[/name]
Obsidian - I’ve never heard this as a name, seems very complicated. What about? [name]Flint[/name]
[name]Lake[/name] - meh, I prefer [name]Lachlan[/name], nn [name]Lock[/name]

[name]Asher[/name] [name]Vale[/name]
[name]Felix[/name] [name]Valor[/name]

Asher - I’d be sad to see this one go off of your list. I feel like it’s been a favorite for a while and I just love how it feels and with Rowan. A little offbeat and yet harmonious.
Felix - One of my All time favorite boys names. I named my (boy) doll this when I was 8 and I still love it. I think most places it sounds new are refreshing. (Where I grew up there are a dime a dozen and I still am in love with this name). I love that it’s classy and yet has a great amount spunk.
Morgan - I love that you are considering this for a boy. How refreshing after all the female Morgan’s I grew up with. I think it works great with your unisex name style and I think it would pair really nicely with Rowan. I like that it keeps the nature feel but departs for the tree as it means sea in Welsh and morning in German.
Luca - I prefer Lucas, but from what I know about you and your naming style I think Luca would be perfect for you. It would be very sweet with Rowan and (while I know this isn’t the most important to you but it would be important to me) it’s got an almost unisex feel while very clearly delineating which of your kids is the girl and which the boy.
Judah - I like this name but I don’t really love it with Rowan.
Asa - I know this is a traditional boys name but if I were told you have a boy and a girl (and I wasn’t a berry) and I saw Asa and Rowan I wouldn’t know which was which. Esp since your mn choices are all very unisex.
Apollo - I think this would be a great choice. I love that it has an overt nature connection as Apollo was the sun god and thus is sort of linked with Rowan (also the a and o are a great subtle connection) but isn’t. I love how this name make me think of sunny days and healthy people and beautiful music.
River - I love that this has a v and Rowan has a w I also like that they are the same length and look sort of similar and both have strong nature feels but sound and embody very distinctly different things. (I would worry about getting locked into an R, unisex, six letter, nature theme for a third child).
Omri - I’d never heard this name before and I like it, I especially like how their would be a prominent O sound in both of your kids names.
Lenox - This is my least favorite of your list. It’s just coming off my girls list (well Lennox). I don’t really know why but I think it’s because if feels a little 1990s cool kids to me.

[b]Names I’m considering for middles…

Harbor[/b] - I’m lovin’ this name lately it’s a great alternative to Harper and reminds of the ocean. I probably wouldn’t combo it with Morgan/River though for visual reasons also it’s visually to repetative.
Valor - I like this Morgan Valor would be my preference. I also like the prominent V as a stronger a little more masculine counterpart to the soft w in Rowan.
Bay - Again a name I wouldn’t pair with Morgan/River. But a great option to soften a stronger ending name like Felix. Felix Bay,
Vale - I like pp suggestion of Asher Vale. I also like that Vale has the same number of letters as Jane.
Obsidian - LOVE Obsidian. It’s a great word name and I don’t think I’ve ever heard used and I think it fits in with your unique take on names. I’d love to see it paired with Felix or River.
Lake - I like that Lake has the same number of letters as Jane. (Again I wouldn’t pair with Morgan/River for obvious reasons).

I love your list! I have to say, every time I see your signature, [name]Omri[/name] just jumps out at me. It’s so unique, full of strength and spunk, and sounds lovely with your daughter [name]Rowan[/name]. Definitely my favorite. I’m also partial to [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Felix[/name]. Normally [name]River[/name] would be a favorite, but I hesitate because of the alliteration. [name]Do[/name] you mind having a [name]River[/name] and a [name]Rowan[/name]? They sound lovely together, but will you feel locked into R names for any future children? [name]Just[/name] a thought.

[name]Harbor[/name] is my favorite of your middle name choices. (I’ve been contemplating this one as well, but hubs thinks [name]Caspian[/name] [name]Harbor[/name] is way too nautical, and I am forced to agree) And bravo for including Obsidian, an excellent and daring choice!

[name]Morgan[/name], [name]Lenox[/name], [name]Asa[/name], and [name]Bay[/name] are my least favorites, but mostly for reasons of personal taste

Some suggestions for unique FNs with a vintage, Biblical, or bohemian twist that mesh well with sister [name]Rowan[/name] (sticking to 2ish syllables because you seem to favor more concise names):
[name]Milo[/name] / [name]Miles[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Odin[/name]
[name]Lachlan[/name]
[name]Theo[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Eli[/name]
[name]Corban[/name]
Tesla
[name]Orion[/name]
[name]Nico[/name]
[name]Fallon[/name]
[name]Alaric[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name]
[name]Orson[/name]
[name]Augustus[/name]
[name]Rigel[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Emrys[/name]
[name]Otto[/name] or [name]Otis[/name]

Some nature/word options for FNs or MNs:

[name]Onyx[/name]
Kestrel
Alder

[name]Drake[/name]
Osprey
[name]Moss[/name]
[name]Canyon[/name]
[name]Ridge[/name]
[name]Forrest[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Sable[/name]
[name]Cobalt[/name]
[name]Sol[/name]
Jackal

I could go on and on…but I’ll refrain from filling up your whole page  Let me know if you see anything you like!

I like [name]Asher[/name], [name]Luca[/name], [name]Lennox[/name], or [name]Omri[/name] best paired with [name]Rowan[/name]; [name]Asher[/name] [name]Vale[/name] is probably my favorite.

[name]Morgan[/name] is the only name I really don’t care for, but a similar choice is [name]Dylan[/name] which means ‘son of the sea’ (although both have the same ending as [name]Rowan[/name] if that concerns you). I’m leaning more toward your one syllable mn choices because they match up better with [name]Jane[/name]. Also love the suggestion of [name]Reef[/name], it’s been one of my long-time guilty pleasure names. =]

[name]Lennox[/name] [name]Reef[/name]? [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Ash[/name]? [name]Omri[/name] [name]Chance[/name]? [name]Luca[/name] [name]Fox[/name]? [name]Asher[/name] [name]Flint[/name]?

Thank you! I would be sad to see [name]Asher[/name] go as well…but it just keeps climbing the charts and I’m worried it’s the next [name]Aiden[/name]. :frowning: I love [name]Felix[/name], it’s a perfect name in my opinion…but I still haven’t gotten my husband fully on board. He thinks it sounds like an “old man” name. [name]Morgan[/name] has been on my list forever for a boy, but I do get negative associations constantly because it is so common for girls… I hear it everywhere…I do love it though, I always picture a wild horse running through the fields when I say it. [name]Asa[/name], [name]Judah[/name], and [name]Luca[/name] I think I like more in theory and sound… I can’t ever picture actually using them. [name]Apollo[/name] was my first dog when I was a little kid, I named him that after I did a report on Greek mythology in like the 3rd or 4th grade. And I just love the sound of it. My husband and my best friend think I’m weird for wanting to name a child after a dead dog though, haha. [name]River[/name] has special meaning to me…my father passed away in 2007 and he loved fishing and boating, the river was his favorite place to be and we spread his ashes in his favorite river at his wake. [name]Omri[/name] I rediscovered on Nameberry and I just love it, spunky and interesting. I love that it’s so uncommon. And [name]Lenox[/name] I added because I like the sound and the tree connection since it means “elm grove” but I’m not sure…

I do love [name]Omri[/name]… it’s definitely the front runner right now. I hear you on the double R’s of [name]River[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name], but since I only plan on having 2 children, I guess it doesn’t matter too much. From your list I like [name]Milo[/name], [name]Lachlan[/name], [name]Alaric[/name], and [name]Ezra[/name] and I’m sure my husband would [name]LOVE[/name] Tesla but I feel like the connection is too strong…like everyone will know instantly who we named him after. We even contemplated the name [name]Nikola[/name] for a girl.

From your word name suggestions I love [name]Onyx[/name], Alder, [name]Lux[/name], and [name]Sage[/name].

I love [name]Asher[/name], [name]Felix[/name], [name]Luca[/name], [name]Asa[/name], [name]River[/name].

For middles [name]Vale[/name], and [name]Lake[/name].
[name]Asher[/name] [name]Vale[/name] is dashing, I love it.

[name]Asher[/name] [name]Vale[/name] is pretty awesome. Why is [name]Asher[/name] so popular?!
