My husband and I have really had a difficult time picking out a name for our son that’s due on [name_m]NYE[/name_m]!! I thought we had it narrowed down to either [name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] or [name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_m]Austin[/name_m], but tonight he told me [name_u]Dean[/name_u] just doesn’t feel right as the 1st name. [name_u]Dean[/name_u] is his grandfather’s name and every cousin and nephew pretty much has it as a middle name. [name_m]Austin[/name_m] is my husband’s middle name. So now he likes [name_m]Graham[/name_m] which I’m okay with, but now we are trying to figure out a middle name. This is what we have so far.
My favourite is [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], then [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], then [name_m]Austin[/name_m].
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is classic and timeless, [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is cool and up-and-coming (but may date in the future), and [name_m]Austin[/name_m] already feels dated to me.
I’m also having a [name_m]NYE[/name_m] baby, and you are much further ahead than us with baby names; don’t worry!
My favourite is definitely [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] doesn’t flow very well, and I’m just not a fan of [name_m]Austin[/name_m] at all.

I love [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]! That would be my pick for sure. My second choice would be [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m].
Unless you’re naming him after [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Bell[/name_u], I wouldn’t use [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Austin[/name_m], and love [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]. William sounds nice too.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]! I agree that [name_m]Austin[/name_m]'s time in the spotlight has already come and gone.
I would use [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Austin[/name_m], since [name_m]Austin[/name_m] is a family name.
But if you and your husband prefer [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] or [name_m]William[/name_m] over [name_m]Austin[/name_m], go with [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] or [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]. Both are very handsome combos.
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] makes me think of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Bell[/name_u].
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and my husband does not, so I’m delighted to see it getting some use! Regardless of middle name, [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] is a great name.
I saw your update and now it sounds like it’s between [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], right? Since you mention that [name_m]William[/name_m] is a name from your family, I’m inclined toward it. I don’t love that [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and [name_m]William[/name_m] end in the same sound, but honestly I think honouring family easily trumps that, and it’s a thing most people wouldn’t even notice. So, I vote [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m]! I like [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] too, but the family connection to [name_m]William[/name_m] wins it for me.
Good news is that [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] sounds amazing. It’s a lovely name, so I think no matter what you pick you’ll be good!
I agree that having that family connection is nice if it’s important to you. Having the same -am ending does make the flow less than perfect, but it doesn’t sound bad.
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is really attractive. The 3 syllables after the 1 syllable first gives it a nice balance. [name_u]True[/name_u], it’s more trendy, but if you love it then who cares, it’s in middle so I doubt anybody will judge you on that.
If it’s really the W that attracts him, what about something like [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] or [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] – a bit more classic than [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]. [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Wilson[/name_m] is also attractive, but maybe only slightly less trendy.
I love [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]! I can’t put my finger on why, but [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] isn’t my favorite. Maybe it’s the similar endings? Are you trying to stick to family names? If not and you’re wanting to have the middle name begin with a W, here are some ideas:
