My son’s name is [name]Brennen[/name] and my DH and I are having the hardest time picking out a name for our daughter who is due in 4 weeks! I’d like to stick with a surname for a first name as we did with our son, but for some reason a girl’s name seems so much harder! Our last name is [name]Cleary[/name], so we’d also like to stick with an Irish name.
So far we’ve agreed on only 1 name, [name]Madilynn[/name] (the name we originally picked out for our first pregnancy). But with [name]Madilynn[/name] or any spelling variation of it becoming more and more popular, the less I want to name her [name]Madilynn[/name].
I absolutely love the name [name]Quinn[/name] with a middle name of [name]Harper[/name] or [name]Olivia[/name], but my DH does not like it at all.
With your last name, I would avoid names that end in ee sound. What [name]Reese[/name], [name]Kerrigan[/name], [name]Brynn[/name], or [name]Rylan[/name]?
[name]Madilynn[/name] is sweet. Since you have both liked it and considered it before, then I think you should keep it. I’m not sure where you live, but I’ve never met another [name]Madilynn[/name] (or [name]Madeline[/name] for that matter) before in my life.
What about [name]Adeline[/name] or [name]Adalynn[/name]? Similar, but not as common.
A friend of mine named her daughter Maddigan, which I always thought was cute. It’s very similar in sound to [name]Madilynn[/name] and shares several NNs, but is definitely more unusual!
Kind of similar to [name]Madilyn[/name] - Maitland or Maitlyn, [name]Mallory[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name]

[name]Just[/name] remembered the name [name]Bevin[/name] today, and it reminded me of your quest for the perfect Irish girl’s name. Have y’all had any luck finding a good fit?
