My daughter is called [name_f]Orla[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
We are expecting baby number 2 in [name_u]January[/name_u] and I’m struggling especially with boys names!
My husband is Irish ” so I like names that have Irish heritage although it’s not essential and I like them to have anglicised spellings so people can pronounce them! I’m also a class teacher so common names are out as I normally associate it with a child! (I’m from UK)
My husband and I both have 4 letters in our name so I quite like a 4 letter theme now although again this is not essential…
Girls I think we like [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] as I think this is sweet and goes well with [name_f]Orla[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and plus I’ve never taught a [name_f]Fern[/name_f]! We did like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] first time round but feel this is too similar to [name_f]Orla[/name_f].
Boys wise - we did like [name_u]Rory[/name_u] however my brother-in-law just named his newborn this so that’s out now. Possible [name_u]Finn[/name_u] or [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] but not 100% sold and I’ve toyed with [name_m]Brody[/name_m] but i find that I don’t love any boys names so suggestions welcome please!
It’s hard when you love your first born name and then feel like you need to equally love the second ones just a much!
[name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is amazing.
A few other girl suggestions:
[name_f]Aine[/name_f]
[name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Maire[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Zella[/name_f]
I love [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for a boy. [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] is good too, & probably less common. But [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is four letters. I don’t care for [name_m]Brody[/name_m]. IT sounds too much like ‘bro-y’.
[name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is gorgeous. I think [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] is a great choice, and from the names already suggested I like [name_u]Jude[/name_u].
[name_f]Orla[/name_f] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] is amazing!
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] seem more common than [name_f]Orla[/name_f], I’m also not a big fan of [name_m]Brody[/name_m]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] would’ve been perfect! ( I also love it but cant use because I have a friend with that name)
I like the 4 letter pattern
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m], [name_m]Ewan[/name_m] and [name_m]Cian[/name_m] are the three Irish boy names that I can think of that would be easy to spell and pronounce, as well as have 4 letters. They both sound fantastic with [name_f]Orla[/name_f] too! [name_m]Ewan[/name_m] and [name_f]Orla[/name_f] sound particularly charming to me
Good luck settling on a name you love!
[name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is really sweet! I prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f] but I can understand how it sounds very similar to [name_f]Orla[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Iris[/name_f]? It’s even one letter different from the word Irish so I guess you could say thats a connection?! Or you could use an Irish middle name.
As for boys, I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u]! It’s very handsome and lovely with [name_f]Orla[/name_f]. Or perhaps [name_m]Nyle[/name_m] (instead of [name_u]Niall[/name_u]).
[name_f]Orla[/name_f] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] is perfect!
I think there were a lot of boys names with Irish heritage suggested, so I’m going to focus on the 4 letter theme because I think that’s adorable:
[name_u]Jace[/name_u]
[name_m]Alec[/name_m]
[name_u]Beau[/name_u]
[name_u]Dean[/name_u]
[name_m]Enzo[/name_m]
[name_m]Ford[/name_m]
[name_u]Grey[/name_u]
[name_m]Nate[/name_m]
[name_u]Nico[/name_u]/[name_u]Niko[/name_u]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_u]Loki[/name_u]
[name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_m]Iver[/name_m]
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
[name_u]Ryan[/name_u]
[name_m]Sven[/name_m]
[name_m]Trey[/name_m]
[name_u]West[/name_u]
[name_m]Zeke[/name_m]
[name_m]Zayn[/name_m]
[name_u]Nile[/name_u]
[name_m]Sean[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_m]Just[/name_m] to update you - loved the boy names suggested but we had another little girl and called her [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] ”
