What are your thoughts on [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] or [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] for a boy’s name? Or do you dislike both? Middle name will likely be [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]. Your honest opinions are welcome!
I like [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] much more, but I think that [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] flows better with [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m].
I like both names and have [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] on my long list. I agree that [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] sounds better.
I like both names. They are both familiar but I only know one [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] and he’s around 35.
I think they both sound nice with [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] so it really is just deciding which one you like better.

I like [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] and love [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] (adore [name_m]Piers[/name_m]). I think [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] and [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] both flow well and make for a powerful combo. I slightly lean toward liking the sound of [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] a bit more.

Both are wonderful – I love [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]/[name_m]Piers[/name_m], but [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] has really been growing on me. [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] pairs well with either. It’s hard, but I think I’m going to go with [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] <3
I m not a big fan of [name_m]Pierce[/name_m], but I think that’s because of an association. I like [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] because I’m obsessed with Welsh names. So both of these reasons are pretty personal! Anyway, I think they’re both solid names. I prefer [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] with [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m].
I prefer the combo [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m], but I think [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] is a nicer given name than [name_m]Pierce[/name_m].

Thank you to all that have commented! This helps so much! I am leaning towards [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] as a strong/preppy name but my reservation is the definition of the word. That is where [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] becomes a strong contender. I would like to create a timeless/strong name for this baby boy.
I think [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] has the same meaning as [name_m]Piers[/name_m], “stone” or " rock". If not you might like [name_m]Piers[/name_m], slightly different pronunciation, [name_m]PEERS[/name_m]. [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] means “little”. I do not feel either has a negative meaning. I like the solid-ness and strength of a name meaning rock or stone.

I really love [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]. It has been on my list of finalists a couple of times, though my husband never got on board. I want to love [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m], but I always think of some kind of villainous “[name_m]Von[/name_m]” something character.
[name_m]Pierce[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] strikes me as being maybe overly Presidential, as in [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m], but that could be the history buff in me talking. Other people might not even think of that.
[name_m]Pierce[/name_m] does have a “rock” meaning, being a variation of [name_m]Peter[/name_m]. [name_m]Piers[/name_m] is also a variant, though personally I wouldn’t call it a “timeless” name, because at the moment it’s nearly a one-man-wonder-name in [name_m]Piers[/name_m] [name_u]Morgan[/name_u]. I think that [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] well qualifies as a “timeless” name though.
Our last name is a presidential name so perhaps [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] would be over the top? [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] is a family name and my husband’s middle name as well.
I should clarify on my reservation with [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]. I love that the name itself means rock but my reservation is the verb meaning behind it. [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] is to stab, penetrate, create a hole, etc. Thoughts?

I do think 3 presidential names is a bit much. In this case, I would choose [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m], or maybe keep looking if you’re not sold on either.
Maybe something like [name_m]Rhett[/name_m], [name_u]Reid[/name_u], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_u]Blake[/name_u], [name_u]Jude[/name_u]…?
