I have been lurking around this site for weeks now trying to get some ideas for names for our twins! I have some ideas now but my husband and I cant decide or agree on ANYTHING!
I am currently pregnant with B/G twins and am “due” on [name]November[/name] 10th. The babies are getting big (and im getting huge) So I doubt I will last till the actual date!
Here are the names my husband likes but I am not a fan of…
[name]Nevaeh[/name] ( i just cant stand this name… its made up!!!0
[name]Julia[/name] ( I had a bad experience with a person with this name)
[name]Sophia[/name] (WAYYYY too popular)
[name]Phillipa[/name] ( I dont mind pippa but dont like the whole name)
Names I like but HE doesnt!
[name]Langley[/name] ( he says too masculine!)
[name]Trudy[/name] (he says he just doent like it!)
[name]Lucille[/name] ( he said “like Ball”… i think its a good connection but whatever!)
[name]Etta[/name] ( he sais it doesnt sounds like a while name)
We dont seem to have a real style for girls names (especially)… SOOOO…
PLEASE HELP US FIND SOME NAMES WE [name]BOTH[/name] LIKE!!!
I will post a boy version in the boys forum!
Would you consider using [name]Pippa[/name] outright? I think it could stand on its own.
What about other variations of [name]Julia[/name]? Such as [name]Juliet[/name] or [name]Julianne[/name]? I think both are absolutely lovely!
It seems like both you and your husband like some vintagey-type girl names ([name]Sophia[/name], [name]Lucille[/name], etc), so maybe you will both like some of these suggestions?
Again, trying to combine the two: He seems to like pretty-girl names, that are lacy and end with a -a sound. Your choices are more unisex with harder sounds.
[name]Nevaeh[/name], [name]Julia[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Phillipa[/name] versus [name]Langley[/name], [name]Trudy[/name], [name]Lucille[/name], [name]Etta[/name]
Your husband seems to like traditional names (with the slight break from sanity that is [name]Nevaeh[/name] - tell him to step away from the celebrity baby names). Your choices seem to be somewhat more whimsical, but are recognizable names.
[name]How[/name] about
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Waverly[/name]
[name]Nova[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] nn [name]Pippa[/name] or [name]Nellie[/name] or [name]Penny[/name]
[name]Tatum[/name]
[name]Teagan[/name]
Congrats on the twins - they are a handful but so so worth it!
ps: jsut saw your boys list, and feminizing some of them might work as well.
[name]Rhea[/name] (pn [name]Ray[/name]-a) instead of [name]Raymond[/name]
[name]Junia[/name] or [name]June[/name] instead of [name]Jonah[/name]
[name]Blair[/name] or [name]Blythe[/name] instead of [name]Blaise[/name]
[name]Addison[/name] or [name]Adelaide[/name] instead of [name]Atticus[/name]
[name]Leah[/name] instead of [name]Liam[/name]
First up my sister was named [name]Gillian[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] after [name]Lucille[/name] Ball and [name]Gillian[/name] is said as [name]Jillian[/name]. I think it is a great connection and the combo of [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Rose[/name] nn of [name]Lucy[/name] is rather gorgeous. Brother [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Lachlan[/name], sibset of [name]Alex[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name], very nice.
What about [name]Harry[/name] it is one of my faves and the combo of [name]Harry[/name] [name]James[/name] is very cool and his sister could be [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]. [name]Harry[/name] and [name]Tessa[/name]!
or
[name]Esther[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] nn’s of [name]Etta[/name] and [name]Nathan[/name]/[name]Nate[/name]
or [name]Piper[/name] [name]Laurel[/name] nn [name]Pippa[/name]/[name]Pippi[/name] and [name]Lachlan[/name] [name]George[/name] nn Lochie, sibset [name]Pip[/name] and Lochie.
[name]Cormac[/name] [name]Langley[/name] nn [name]Mac[/name] and [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Anne[/name] nn [name]Sadie[/name], sibset [name]Mac[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Connor[/name] [name]Patrick[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
My suggestion (and I think it’s above as well and a great one) is [name]Lucia[/name]. Combines the rhythm of names he likes with your like for [name]Lucille[/name]. I suggested [name]Jonas[/name] as the compromise in the boys forum, and [name]Jonas[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name] is a beautiful set of names for b/g twins.
I think [name]Lucia[/name] is a great choice for a girl too. Some other names that are more traditional (to appeal to DH) and yet vintage or more unisex (to appeal to you) are:
