we are having a hard time coming up with a name that we love as much as our daughters name – [name]Finley[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] V – we like our chosen names to be a little unusual, but not made up. So far we’ve come up with
[name]Jovie[/name] (help us think of a middle name) V and
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Mae[/name] V
I really like [name]Finley[/name]. I’m not sure if [name]Amelia[/name] is a good match, and [name]Jovie[/name] just sounds a little too “made up” for my taste. Other suggestions:
[name]Mathilda[/name] (nn [name]Tilly[/name])
[name]Penelope[/name] (nn [name]Nell[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Pippa[/name])
[name]Maggie[/name]
[name]Meggie[/name]
I think [name]Tilly[/name] and [name]Finley[/name] make a great sib set!
I’m not sure [name]Jovie[/name] V is a good choice-- the two V sounds are quite close together, and depending on what your surname actually is, it might repeat sounds a bit too well and sound like a stutter.
[name]Jovienne[/name] would smooth things out-- do you like the sound of it? It’s the classical French version of the name, which has to do with [name]Jupiter[/name].
As you selected short, unpretentious middles for [name]Finley[/name] and for your [name]Amelia[/name] combo, perhaps:
well, her full name would be [name]Jovie[/name] (middle name) Vanderhaar. My biggest concern is that [name]Jovie[/name] as a child is adorable imo, but Im not sure how it would translate as an adult. With [name]Ameila[/name] I’d be concerned about its rise in popularity.
I don’t like [name]Jovie[/name] to be honest, it reminds me of the words “jive” and “groovy”, I just, don’t like it. I also don’t like the double v’s in first and last name.
It’s also quite nicknamey, where [name]Finley[/name] is obviously a full name, [name]Jovie[/name] seems like nn for like [name]Giovanna[/name] as an example.
What about [name]Josie[/name]? or…
[name]Noa[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Mia[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Mila[/name]
[name]Mina[/name]
I do think [name]Amelia[/name] is lovely, though very very different to [name]Finley[/name] in terms of girliness, not denying that [name]Finley[/name] sounds feminine, but it is indeed more androgynous than [name]Amelia[/name], which I would caution against.
I’m going to go against the pp and say I like [name]Jovie[/name]! I knew a girl names [name]Jorie[/name], which totally looks made up, but the sound is really pretty. And [name]Jovie[/name] doesn’t look made up to me. [name]Love[/name] it!
I just wanted to point out that [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Mae[/name] might get a few [name]Milly[/name] [name]Mae[/name] comments. I’m not sure if that is too cutzy/country girl for you. I’m not a fan of [name]Jovie[/name]. What about [name]Gia[/name]/[name]Gianna[/name] or [name]Josie[/name]/[name]Josephine[/name]?
[name]Jovie[/name] might not go well with your last name, so maybe a different spelling?
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Mae[/name] is gorgeous, just, to me, doesn’t go well with [name]Finley[/name].
Names:
[name]Parker[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Serena[/name]
[name]Brittany[/name] (not very common, I know)
[name]Vanille[/name] (If you wanna go out of the ballpark)
[name]Josephine[/name]
Thanks for the suggestions - DH doesn’t like [name]Josie[/name], am I am not a fan of [name]Jovienne[/name]. Not sure where we’ll end up, but Im thankful to have you all to bounce ideas off since we don’t share our names with people we know.
