We need to incorporate my husband’s 101 year-old grandmother’s name ([name]Florence[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]) into the middle name for our daughter. My husband’s first choice is to use [name]Florence[/name], but so far we haven’t found many names we think work with it (especially with our three syllable last name).
We’ve narrowed it to
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Elise[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] – We’d probably used [name]Ellie[/name] as a nickname.
It think both of us are still unsure. thoughts? older sibs are ian and grady.
I like both names. I think [name]Elise[/name] sounds nice with your son’s names…but [name]Lydia[/name] is okay too. If I had to choose I’d go with [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Love[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Florence[/name]! It’s elegant and I think it sounds nice with [name]Ian[/name] and [name]Grady[/name]. With two older brothers, she definitely needs a gentle, lilting, girly name like [name]Lydia[/name].
[name]Ian[/name] and [name]Grady[/name] with sister [name]Elise[/name] or [name]Lydia[/name]?
I feel that [name]Elise[/name] is the best choice in a sibset with [name]Ian[/name] and [name]Grady[/name], and besides [name]Elise[/name] is a beautiful name!
So [name]Elise[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] wins for me.
If you had siblings of say [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Gideon[/name] I would opt for [name]Lydia[/name] but not in your case.
Definitely [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Florence[/name]! Though [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] is nice, too. Could [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Margot[/name] be an option? Not sure if that’s close enough to [name]Margaret[/name]. Either way, [name]Lydia[/name] goes really well with your other children’s names!
I love [name]Elise[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]! As someone else suggested, [name]Margot[/name] is also a nice option. What a wonderful namesake for you daughter; hope your grandmother makes it to 110!
I like [name]Elise[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] the best out of those two. Very classic. I want to suggest [name]Flora[/name]. I always think of it as a fresher version of [name]Florence[/name]. I recently met a toddler with that name and it fit her and I think it also ages well.
[name]Both[/name] names are perfection! I really can’t choose. I will say that I am not a fan of [name]Florence[/name], but the [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Florence[/name] combo really works. I also love [name]Elise[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]. The flow is perfect. Sorry I cant help more.
I think [name]Elise[/name] works better with [name]Ian[/name] and [name]Grady[/name], although I prefer the [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Florence[/name] combo on its own.
I think [name]Ian[/name], [name]Grady[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Florence[/name] would be perfect, though
I’ve always had a soft spot for the name [name]Marguerite[/name]–especially as a middle name. I think [name]Elise[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] are gorgeous!
