I’ve finally reached the end of trimester 1 with my first IVF pregnancy, and I don’t know what I’m having yet. I have a little bit of a list going on already but I wanted to explore more options.
I think sometimes it’s hard to be objective about what names flow well with your own surname because you’re so used to hearing it.
I have a slightly complicated surname, it’s Dvorkin (pronounced D - Vorkin) and I’d really like to see what names you think pair well with it for a girl. I’ll do this separately for a boy at some point, but my family tends to have girls so we’ll begin with girls.
Both of us like feminine girls’ names, melodic vowels, A-endings, things with a feminine aesthetic.
We’d love to see any combo’s you can come up with. We’re happy to use one or two middle names.
We’re avoiding names that are very similar to [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] because our child has cousins with these names.
[name_f]My[/name_f] name faves at the moment are: [name_f]Amaranth[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Dita[/name_f], [name_f]Liesel[/name_f], [name_f]Evanora[/name_f], [name_f]Honora[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f] , [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] & [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
His name favourites are: [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] , [name_f]Cosette[/name_f], [name_f]Alita[/name_f], [name_f]Alicia[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_f]Allanah[/name_f], Morrigana
For what it’s worth, I don’t think your last name is too out there but I get the consonant combo might be a little difficult! I’ll suggest my to the best of my ability! Of course, mix and match firsts and lasts however you’d like!
Congratulations! You guys have a great list started. I think [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Liesel[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Cosette[/name_f], [name_f]Alita[/name_f], and [name_f]Allanah[/name_f] fit really nicely with your last name and match the criteria you’re looking for!

Thank you so much - we liked a bunch of these . He especially Likes [name_f]Odessa[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f], or maybe [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. We’re a little overwhelmed just now, but thank you so much for arranging combo ideas, even when they weren’t quite right they have us talking about what we like and don’t like. We like [name_f]Georgianna[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f], and I love the ultra-femme style of [name_f]Suzette[/name_f] too. We’ll likely post again as we narrow our choices but thank you for a great list.
To my ear I wouldn’t use names with the letter v or d with your last name.
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f] [name_f]Honora[/name_f] is my favorite combo with your list and ln
This list is spot on with our style … honora is pronounced [name_f]Annora[/name_f] , And [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] are lovely, but when he’s home from work I can’t wait to share [name_f]Adelita[/name_f] which is a new one I had not heard and I love the [name_f]Lita[/name_f] / dita shortening, thank you that really helps me imagine a child wearing the name in real life.
Thank you @Greyblue the arrangement of names is the tricky bit and probably where we needed most help. I think I actually love every one of your combos of our existing names. We’ll be playing with saying these a little bit later . I suspect he’ll like [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] , sounds like his kind of name favourite… I’m not sure about [name_f]Anya[/name_f] but [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] [name_f]Liesel[/name_f] is the inspo I get from it, so this has been hugely helpful just to get our brains ticking over and looking at our name mess with fresh eyes.
I suprisingly do like it now you say it, would have not thought to put two a endings together or expected it to sound quite so nice but thank you for helping me see that as a possibility.
