Help us name #2!

We are struggling to find a name for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]'s sister. Here is our list. Please vote and leave feedback, suggestions are appreciated!

[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] (I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], worried its getting too popular)
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] (Is this getting too popular too?)
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] (I had a beloved dog named [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]…so that is my struggle, but I adore this name!)
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (favorite nicknames?)

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] are [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] too but not as much.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] could be [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Elea[/name_f] ([name_f]El[/name_f]-leah), [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f]

[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] is not very popular, and I feel [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] has kind of reached its peak for now.

[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]- It sounds a bit nasal to me, but goes well with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]- I’m rarely around young children, but I’ve only ever known one [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and she would be in university now. It’s spunky and fun but has a history of use. I prefer [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] because of [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] myself.
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]- A sweet, feminine Southern belle name. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] could be nicknamed [name_f]Nola[/name_f] or [name_f]Lia[/name_f] if you’re not comfortable with [name_f]Maggie[/name_f].
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]- I love the sophisticated, strong, regal and yet down-to-earth [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], with all her great historical and literary associations. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are perfect together. Nicknames: [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Lea[/name_f], [name_f]Lani[/name_f] (lah-nee/lann-ee), [name_u]Nori[/name_u], [name_f]Nora[/name_f]

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is by far my favorite! [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Addie[/name_f] would be so cute

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is an elegant name [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. From your list, [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] match this feel.
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] I would spell [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. Mainly because I think the length of the name coordinates better with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
I think you’ve got most of the nicknames for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] already, but ill add: [name_f]Elea[/name_f], [name_f]Lenore[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_u]Nelly[/name_u], & [name_f]Noreen[/name_f].

[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] or [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] ([name_f]Nola[/name_f]) would be sweet!

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] are two names on my list. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] keeps getting moved from first to second place. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it! [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] too.

^ I agree with maybe_someday_baby

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. ("[name_u]Lennie[/name_u]")

I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
What is [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]'s nn? [name_f]Addie[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] would be so cute.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] make a great set - two of my favourite names on my list!

I love [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. I’m not a fan of [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] or [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], and think your other two fit better. I love the nns [name_f]Noor[/name_f], [name_u]Nori[/name_u], and [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] best.
I prefer nn [name_f]Nola[/name_f] for [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], and I like [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f] for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
The beloved pet part wouldn’t bother me. It’s a different name and you can use a different nickname.

[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are my favs. If you don’t have a middle name, you could even combine them…[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nn’s [name_f]Viv[/name_f] or [name_f]Ele[/name_f]. One suggestion though would be to consider the spelling Viviene/[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. Seems to go more with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]…more french. it also seems to soften the end pronounciation.

I think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] sound very nice together, as do [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] do not have the right feel together at all and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] is a little iffy. I think something a tiny bit more modern would sound better with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], but that doesn’t seem to be your style.

Other suggestions:

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f]
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Leilani[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Petunia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] & [name_u]Vivian[/name_u].

Good luck!

I agree with PPs, either:
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_m]Lenny[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], I’d stay away from uber-popular [name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] & [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is a beautiful name!

[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] (I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], worried its getting too popular) [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is getting popular but its much prettier than [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], which is a bit harsh to me. And to my ears neither is a great match for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] (Is this getting too popular too?) Getting a little popular but a beautiful name they makes a great sib set with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. Would suggest the [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] spelling because it is a bit more feminine looking and looks great next to [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] but either way a great choice.
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] (I had a beloved dog named [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]…so that is my struggle, but I adore this name!) Not a fan of this name and not sure [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] make a great sib set but that depends on your love of the name.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (favorite nicknames?) [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name, great sib set match. [name_u]Norie[/name_u] is a nn that deviates for the typical [name_f]Elle[/name_f] / [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
