[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! We are expecting a baby boy in [name_u]July[/name_u] and are leaning towards using the first name [name_m]Crosby[/name_m]. We like that it’s fairly unique but it still feels “familiar.”
First of all, what do you think of the name [name_m]Crosby[/name_m]? Are we crazy? Is this not as familiar sounding as we think it is, or does it make you think of any weird associations that he could get made fun of on the playground?
Secondly, we are exploring middle names - what is best? Or, we would love other suggestions! We are looking for a simple, traditional middle name to balance out the unique nature of [name_m]Crosby[/name_m].
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] (not sure we like this because it’s too “[name_m]Bill[/name_m] Cosby”, but [name_m]William[/name_m] was his great grandfather’s name)
Our last name begins with “S.”
Thanks for your help!! We need community support on this one!
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] has a familiar feel. At first I was going to say I personally feel neutral about [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] but I think i actually like it. I think it is a name that could grow on me even more. I like honor names so my vote goes to [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]. You could also use [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. Or a name with the same meaning as [name_m]William[/name_m], his middle name, something related to his birth month.
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] is not my style but it’s not totally out-there. There was a character on the Parenthood TV show named [name_m]Crosby[/name_m]. I also think of [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] Stills & [name_m]Nash[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] best of the middles.
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] is cool, I like it! It’s unusual but not weird - it’s familiar enough. And it’s easy to say and spell. I think it’s a winner for sure!! I like all the middle name options. I think [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] is fine since [name_m]William[/name_m] won’t be shortened to “[name_m]Bill[/name_m]” since it’s in the middle spot.
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] is not my style, but it does have a very friendly feel! My favorite of your combos is [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
I like [name_m]Crosby[/name_m]. It feels both fresh and young, but also mature–probably from the singer association. [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] sounds the best to me.
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] is very cool! It’s familiar without being too common. [name_u]Unique[/name_u] but not weird. [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] are my favorites.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Crosby[/name_m]. It’s a really spunky name that is familiar to everyone. I love that you wouldn’t come across many boys with this name. [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is really handsome.
