I have a 2 year old named [name]Knox[/name]. I’m expecting twin boys in [name]June[/name] and can’t find a name that fits for twin #2. We’ve agreed on the name [name]Mace[/name] for twin #1. We want a name that is uncommon but not unheard of. We also want a strong name. HELP!
Here’s our list so far. I’d appreciate some more ideas but NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS please!
Isn’t [name]Mace[/name] a weapon? The google definition is ‘a big club used for bludgeoning’. Its also the name of pepper spray - [name]Mace[/name]. I’m just hoping you know this since it is quite a serious meaning for a name. Choose [name]Hayes[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name], or [name]Thor[/name] and [name]Hayes[/name]. Sounds much nicer without being so heavy in meaning.
[name]Mace[/name] was my gg grandfather’s name, so I don’t associate it with the weapon. If [name]Gunner[/name] and [name]Cannon[/name] are in use, why not [name]Mace[/name]? [name]Mace[/name] has the advantage of sounding like a nickname for [name]Mason[/name].
[name]Mace[/name] and [name]Thor[/name] are a little much together but are strong and uncommon. I like the suggestion of [name]Axel[/name]. What about [name]Apollo[/name]? [name]Both[/name] [name]Mace[/name] and [name]Apollo[/name] sound soft but have strong associations. Have you thought of [name]Mars[/name] instead of [name]Mace[/name]? [name]Mars[/name] and [name]Axel[/name] sound cool together. Other ideas:
I know [name]Mace[/name] is a weapon and it fits right into the kind of name we want our son to carry into being an adult. We are set on [name]Mace[/name] but finding another strong male name that we both agree on is difficult. The only reason [name]Thor[/name] is on the list is because it’s my maiden name and a name my husband I both like. We both like [name]Mack[/name] but [name]Mace[/name] and [name]Mack[/name] are to matchy and we don’t want matchy twin names.
I like [name]Axel[/name]!
[name]Rhys[/name]/[name]Reis[/name]- Really like this and think it goes well with [name]Knox[/name] and [name]Mace[/name]. I prefer [name]Rhys[/name] over [name]Reis[/name], though.
[name]Clay[/name]- I don’t like this.
[name]Cale[/name]- [name]Cale[/name] and [name]Cal[/name] are nice names but both sound like nicknames to me.
[name]Cal[/name]-
[name]Hayes[/name]- I like it, for sure, but prefer [name]Rhys[/name].
[name]Thor[/name]- Was going to knock you for this, but since it’s your maiden name, I really like it. I think it’s a good choice for you and goes well with [name]Mace[/name].
I strongly dislike [name]Axel[/name]. It sounds really trendy, played out, and reminds me of [name]Axel[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. Your other names are far superior. I also like keeping to the one syllable thing.
We must be like minded! My son’s name is [name]Kael[/name] and when boy #2 comes we are naming him [name]Rhys[/name]! I love both of those names. I have seen a few children recently named [name]Cale[/name], although none spelled the way my son’s is. I love both of those names! I think [name]Knox[/name], mace, and [name]Rhys[/name] sound great together as well as [name]Knox[/name], [name]Mace[/name], and [name]Cale[/name]. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one! Congrats!
We still haven’t made a decision but my husband is really leaning towards using [name]Thor[/name]. He thinks I will regret not using my maiden name when it fits our naming criteria so well. We have narrowed it down to 3-4 names and I’m happy with all of them. We’ve decided to wait until we meet the twins to determine the perfect name. I’d still love to hear opinions and ideas.
first of all, love the name [name]Knox[/name]! i like the names [name]Mace[/name] and [name]Cale[/name]. And do you say Reic like ‘[name]Reese[/name]’? because i really like the three names [name]Knox[/name], [name]Mace[/name] and [name]Reece[/name] together.
Yes [name]Reis[/name] is just like [name]Reece[/name]. It’s like [name]Reid[/name] but with an s. I’m not sure I like [name]Reece[/name] because it’s gender neutral and our other two names are not gender neutral
We thought about [name]Gage[/name] but we are set on [name]Knox[/name], [name]Mace[/name] and ?. I think [name]Thor[/name] would be great for #3. I love all the suggestions!
Right now we like
[name]Mace[/name] [name]Roger[/name] T________ & [name]Thor[/name] Stevens T________ both middle names are family names.
[name]Mace[/name] Stevens T_______ & [name]Reis[/name] Thor____ T______ again both are maiden names in the family.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Thorne[/name] if you’re not entirely sold on [name]Thor[/name]? Still strong and manly, containing your name but without the Norse God reference.
I love the name [name]Dane[/name] and I was planning to use it but my [name]SIL[/name] claimed it right when we found out we were having boys. She isn’t pregnant so I’m still a little peeved at her thinking she can claim a name. I like the idea of [name]Thorne[/name]. I also found [name]Nyle[/name] today. My grandfathers name was [name]Neal[/name] but my husband doesn’t like it. I think I’ll throw [name]Nyle[/name] at him and see what he says. Keep the suggestions coming. [name]Mace[/name] seems so masculine to me but lately everything I’ve found I like to go with it is gender neutral.
We still haven’t decided on a final name for twin #2. We’ve narrowed it down to [name]Thor[/name], [name]Cale[/name], and [name]Reeve[/name]. I’m expecting these twins any day and I just can’t decide!
