[name]Theodore[/name]. You both like the name. You can always call him [name]Theo[/name] as a nn, but you need the longer first name to balance out the mouthful of a lastname, in my opinion. [name]Oliver[/name] is [name]WAY[/name] too trendy. [name]Nathaniel[/name] is nice, but you are more likely to get the nn of “[name]Nate[/name]” than “[name]Nathan[/name]” with it, so consider that.

I agree, [name]Oliver[/name] started out high on my list but it’s very near the bottom of it right now. I don’t mind “[name]Nate[/name]” so much, but I have a bad association with “[name]Nathan[/name]” so I would actually prefer “[name]Nate[/name]”. Thanks for your input, really does help. Now that I’m looking at them all together, I’m really starting to be able to see which names are rising to the top in my mind.

We just have had such a hard time with our last name. Some people tell me the names I like are too MUCH because the last name is a mouthful, and that we need a “light, monosyllabic” first name. That just hasn’t been where our tastes have taken us.

I love them all! I especially like [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name]. I prefer [name]Theodore[/name] over just [name]Theo[/name]. I don’t like nns given as full names because I like giving the child the option to go with a different nn when they get older if they want. What if he decides he wants to be [name]Ted[/name] or [name]Teddy[/name]? [name]Just[/name] my opinion on it

Please don’t name him [name]Theodore[/name]…It’s one of the most weak chipmunks and I’m sure of it he will be teased. I do like [name]Theo[/name] though.

I love [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name]! I voted [name]Elliot[/name] (mainly because I think with a more complicated surname, you need a straightforward FN, which [name]Elliot[/name] seems to fit the bill to me–I would think it’d be quite easy to say and remember [name]Elliot[/name] Reichstein!), but if you both love [name]Theodore[/name], then I would definitely use it! I think [name]Theodore[/name] Reichstein would work better, mainly because [name]Theodore[/name] is more traditional, and I would think [name]Theodore[/name] would have a stronger tie to [name]Dorothy[/name], since they both share the “dor” part…

Good luck!

I like both [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name] but voted [name]Theodore[/name] because it looks good with you name and with the family connection and your like of the nn [name]Theo[/name] it seems to fit. Unlike a pp, I don’t think people will associate it with the chipmunks, I have never considered the connection and [name]Theodore[/name] is on my short list. I like to think of namesakes like [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Roosevelt[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] Seuss Geisel aka “Dr.Seuss”.

Voted [name]Theodore[/name], the runners up were [name]Dominic[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name]

[name]Theodore[/name] is quite literally one of my favorite names ever. I would use [name]Teddy[/name] as a nn though I know many people today like [name]Theo[/name].

[name]Nathanial[/name] can also be called [name]Nat[/name], [name]Nate[/name], my husband says [name]Thane[/name] or [name]Niel[/name].

And [name]Damian[/name] isn’t demonic (no more so than [name]Dominic[/name] or [name]Damon[/name]). [name]Damian[/name] means tame. [name]Saint[/name] [name]Damian[/name] was martyred with his twin brother [name]Cosmo[/name] in Syria early in the 4th century. They are the patron saints of physicians. Due his renown, the name came into general use in [name]Christian[/name] Europe. Another saint by this name was [name]Peter[/name] [name]Damian[/name], an 11th-century cardinal and theologian from [name]Italy[/name].

[name]Just[/name] thought I’d say that. I hate seeing [name]Damian[/name] referred to as “demonic” when in reality, it’s a saint name.

[name]Elliott[/name] is really my style very modern and stylish and I think the nn of [name]Eli[/name] goes SO well with Reichstein, [name]Eli[/name] Reichstein.

Otherwise I would not go for what I consider the stuffy [name]Theodore[/name] rather I would go with the very today [name]Theo[/name].

[name]Nathaniel[/name] is a gorgeous name, [name]Nathaniel[/name] Reichstein how handsome! And wouldn’t [name]Nate[/name] Reichstein be fabulous?

rollo

I said each one with your last name, and I loved [name]Theo[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] the most. The others sound a tad bit more stuffy to me. We very nearly named my 9 month old [name]Theo[/name], but went with [name]Graham[/name] in the end (he’s called [name]Grey[/name] probably half the time), so I did already love that one. All of them are great strong names though, any of them will serve your boy well!

[name]Just[/name] to clarify, I don’t think [name]Damian[/name] sounds demonic, but there is a strong connection to the devil child in “The Omen.” I’m a horror movie fan, so it’s the first thing I thought of, however I still liked the sound of it. I think that connection might be fading a bit despite the recent re-boot of the movie, however I’ve had a few people point it out so maybe it hasn’t faded as much as I thought.

[name]Theodore[/name] is a personal favourite of mine. A classic with many nickname options that can transition the name from baby to adult. I also think it sounds best with your surname

Well, who cares about a horror movie connection? People still name their sons [name]Jason[/name] and [name]Freddy[/name] and [name]Michael[/name]. People still name their daughters [name]Regan[/name]. If we were to avoid every name that was ever a major horror movie villain, we would have a hard time finding good names.

I like [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], and [name]Elliot[/name] (in that order) with your last name though.

Currently trying to decide between [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] myself. Others on our list were [name]Henry[/name], [name]Owen[/name], [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Simon[/name]. Only 4 weeks left!!! I love all of your choices, but I think I like [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] the most. [name]Do[/name] you have middle names?

I picked [name]Dominic[/name] but I like [name]Nathaniel[/name] too

I chose [name]Nathaniel[/name], I love it! I also dislike [name]Nathan[/name], so I am hesitant. But I love [name]Nat[/name] or [name]Nate[/name], or [name]Natty[/name] for a little one. The great thing about the name is that even if he is in a class with another [name]Nathaniel[/name], they have an abundance of nicknames they can go by to avoid confusion

I voted for [name]Elliot[/name] because [name]Elliot[/name] Reichstein has such fantastic flow to it. The name also makes me think of an author or other professional with his name in print. I also like [name]Theo[/name], but that and [name]Theodore[/name] are becoming a bit too popular for my taste.
