Help us with good strong boy names

My husband and I are due in less than 4 weeks for our first. We are having a harder time picking out boy names than girls (we won’t know the sex until we meet baby). If we have a boy, I am sure he will take after my husband who has never met a stranger in his life. I think if we have a girl she could be more like me, more drawn back and dislikes being the center of attention.

Many of my choices have been ruled out by him for the fact that he knows someone with the same name (see below)

I like:
[name_u]Beau[/name_u]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Charles[/name_m] nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_u]Merritt[/name_u]
[name_m]Baxter[/name_m] (this hasn’t been completely ruled out, but he likes it better for a middle or for a girl)

He likes:
[name_m]Fitz[/name_m] (I originally suggested this but am liking it less and less as we hear people’s reactions to it)
[name_m]Lundy[/name_m] (after a place we have been to but to me this sounds feminine and a bit out there)

To complicate matters, Our last name, [name_m]Johnston[/name_m], rules out many cute “old man” first names that we like but that do not sound good together, such as [name_m]Wilson[/name_m], [name_u]Alton[/name_u], etc. (all -ton and -son names are out of the running)

If it helps, our frontrunner for girls is [name_u]Joan[/name_u], after my grandmother. We think its a very unlikely name for a 2017 baby which is somewhat important to us. We also really like the idea of going with a one-syllable name but are not stuck on that idea either.

What are your suggestions?
