Help! We are stuck

Hello! We are expecting our second child in [name]October[/name], and it’s a boy. We are completely stuck for names…

We already have a daughter whose name is [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Etienne[/name]. Our last name is Indrigo, which is said In-DREEE-go. We are planning on using our fathers’ names–[name]Victor[/name] and [name]Valentino[/name]–for the middle names, so it’s already kind of a mouthful. I would love some feedback on these possibilities:

[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Max[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name]

My husband’s family is Italian, I’m Ukranian and British. Honestly, we are not really in love with any of these names…[name]Felix[/name] was our frontrunner but the grandparents don’t love it, and we aren’t 100% sold on it either.

Thoughts? Be honest, we can take it.

[name]Miranda[/name]

I like them all. Everything is going to sound like a mouthful with [name]Victor[/name] [name]Valentino[/name], so I wouldn’t make that sway you. There are only a few times when anyone even hears the middle names. I like [name]Theodore[/name], the best (love [name]Teddy[/name], like [name]Theo[/name]). My second choice would be [name]Sebastian[/name] or [name]Felix[/name].

[name]IMO[/name], Grandparents should have [name]ZERO[/name] say in what you name your baby. We’re not even discussing it with them. They’ll find out the name when the cute little perfect baby is here.

My favourites are [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name]. I really like [name]Leo[/name] too, but not with your surname.

[name]Felix[/name]- I love this name and I like the flow with your last name, my favorite with all factors considered
[name]Leo[/name]- with [name]Valentino[/name] and your last name there are too many ee and o sounds, it kind of rhymes
[name]Max[/name]- I like this, it feels crisp, but it’s not my favorite with [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name] perhaps?

I would avoid [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name] since they are three syllables (I love all three names though and you could always use a nn, [name]Alex[/name], [name]Theo[/name], [name]Seb[/name]/[name]Bas[/name]/[name]Ian[/name].

I like [name]Max[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name]. [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] are both a bit kitty-ish, especially [name]Felix[/name]. Here are a few other suggestions.
Italian:
[name]Vincent[/name] / [name]Vinnie[/name]
[name]Alden[/name]
[name]Dante[/name]
[name]Giancarlo[/name] / [name]Gianni[/name] / [name]Carlo[/name]
[name]Mateo[/name]
[name]Lucca[/name]
[name]Otto[/name]
[name]Enzo[/name]

British:
[name]Oscar[/name]
[name]Lewis[/name]
[name]Luke[/name]
[name]Luca[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Louis[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name]

I really love [name]Victor[/name], honestly. It is under-used and classic.

I like [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name]. I agree with the comment above that middle names hardly get brought up so the main concern is that they sound good with your surname. Good luck picking a name and congrats on your new baby.

Thank you sooo much! Very helpful!

The latest shortlist is now [name]Felix[/name], [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name]. If anyone feels like ranking these from most to least favourite, we’d love to hear!

GAH, boys’ names are hard…

[name]Sebastian[/name], [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Felix[/name], in that order.

I really like [name]Felix[/name], [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Max[/name] because they are shorter and will sound a little better with the two middle names and your last name.

I immediately thought of [name]Sebastian[/name] when I saw your daughter’s name ([name]Etienne[/name]). There are some shorter, hip nicknames ([name]Seb[/name], Bass, Bash, [name]Bastian[/name]) so the “mouthful” isn’t that big of a deal, especially since middle names are rarely used.

Next choice would be [name]Alexander[/name]. It’s a classic. It’s strong. [name]Love[/name] [name]Alex[/name] or [name]Xander[/name]. It’s a little more “mainstream” like [name]Olivia[/name], which I like. I think these two names actually match the best.

[name]Felix[/name] is the third choice. It’s a cool name, don’t get me wrong, but I think [name]Felix[/name] [name]Victor[/name] [name]Valentino[/name] is just a lot of… something. I don’t know.

With the use of two strong middle names I’d normally suggest keeping the first name to one syllable. [name]Leo[/name] sounds great with the middle names, but rhymes with the last name which I find to be a bit too Dr. Seuss-ish. The name [name]Max[/name] is too popular for my taste. If you’re looking for more Italian names, I personally love [name]Giovanni[/name] ([name]Gio[/name] for a nickname). It might make for a name that’s a bit too intense for your liking, but I think there’s a nice ring to it! Good luck!
