We have four boys and just found out we are expecting our fifth son. For our first four sons we used the name of a grandparent (first names, middle names or in the case of the grandmas, maiden names) as first names. With middle names we just went with names we thought flowed well (and loved the sound of). Now with son #5 we are fresh out of grandparents (and ideas).
We know we could go ‘further back’ and dig out some more family names but for us, it starts to feel contrived to shake another name out of the family tree just for the sake of saying “It’s a family name”. We will use a family name as a middle name (or one of two if we end up going with three names again). Which name we would use depends on the first name/other middle name we come up with.
Are you looking to stick with names ending in -en, -on, -in since the rest of your boys’ names end with that sound? There are a ton of boys names with this ending: [name]Brandon[/name]/ [name]Brendan[/name], [name]Grayson[/name], [name]Peyton[/name], [name]Caden[/name], [name]Logan[/name], [name]Jordan[/name], [name]Breccan[/name], [name]Stellan[/name], [name]Cameron[/name], [name]Hudson[/name], just to name a few. Any of these would go well with your other boys.
[name]Do[/name] you want to simply stick to a similar style which is kind of a mixture of classic and trendy? [name]Henry[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name],[name]Felix[/name], [name]Finn[/name], [name]Kai[/name], [name]Milo[/name], [name]Otto[/name], [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Silas[/name], or any others that are classically cool.
What is your maiden name? Useable? What about your husband’s middle name?
It is hard to know what you’re looking for since the first names of all of your other kids were handed down to them. Based off of your mn choices, you seem to have a preference for cool and classic names which is easy to work from. You’ll probably be looking out for another name with an X in it too I would imagine. Give us more to go off of. …
I would go for a name that end in the ‘IN’ sound ([name]Griffin[/name]) OR avoid names in an -on sound because i feel like [name]Griffin[/name] is the one left out. I would also take another ‘X’ name to continue the theme
You dont have too, if you dont like any names that fit the themes that are (coincidentally?) slipped into your kids names
Congratulations. What a blessing to have 5 sons! They are so lucky to have each other.
I would stick with another N ending, but use something other than ‘on’ if that bothers you. I listed names that end in ‘an’, ‘en’ or ‘in’.
