First off, I’m not pregnant. After a rather early miscarriage we decided it was a sign from the universe to wait a bit before having a baby. Which means, for obvious reasons, the name we had decided on , [name]Claire[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name], is off the table.
Thus far we have most definitely decided that we like [name]Silas[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] for a boy and [name]Freya[/name] [name]Alessandra[/name] for a girl. But we would like to have a couple more names for each gender, as we hope to have four children, if we could be so lucky. We have a while to think, DH is working on his PH.D, but I like to plan ahead!
I really like [name]Moses[/name] for a boy, my husband is ok with it, but doesn’t love it. He really loves [name]Atticus[/name], I don’t like how popular it is becoming. We are stumped for girls names.
Also, our last name is three syllables, very French, and starts with a “sh” sound although it is spelled “ch” ( oh, the horrors of spelling).
Any suggestions to complete our sib set?
I was almost expecting you to already have 3 kids with fn Biblical names starting with an M and a plant name with four letter as a mn. I’m not sure you’ve quite named yourself into a corner sounds more like a round about and you just need a new road map. So no fret I’m sure you’ll find some beautiful names to round out your quartet.
It seems that you prefer shorter two syllable first names and longer middle names.
Combo’s that fit that description on my list are:
Girls: [name]Esme[/name] [name]Mirabella[/name], [name]Violet[/name] [name]Henrietta[/name], [name]Rosa[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Greer[/name] [name]Felicity[/name]
Boys: [name]Felix[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name], [name]Moses[/name] [name]Jonathan[/name], [name]Henry[/name] [name]Constantin[/name] and [name]Simon[/name] [name]Maximillian[/name]
I think there are lots of lovely combinations to go with [name]Silas[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] and [name]Freya[/name] [name]Alessandra[/name]. I especially like [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Moses[/name] listed above. Some other possibilities are:
Yeah I’m also a little confused at the title of this post! Was expecting already-born children and a theme you’re forced to adhere to.
Since you don’t have kids yet, you aren’t really tied down to anything, which is nice. You also don’t know if this sibset of names you like will ever exist, either, since there’s no guarantees you’ll ever have both a boy and a girl, of course. But they are great names!
Some names from my lists that I like with those two are:
With no names actually in use yet, I think it’s premature to worry that you’re “in a corner”. It isn’t a bad idea to have a list of names you like that are compatible (ideally 4 of each as you might wind up with all one gender), but you still have complete control over your future choices.
[name]Atticus[/name] isn’t even in the Top 400. I mean I do get worried over popularity, but a name outside the Top 200 is a rare name. [name]Atticus[/name] is a nameberry name to me. Seems popular here, you often read it, but in the real world it’s not popular at all. I never get how people think that names are popular just because they are somewhere in the top 1000. In most countries they only ever tell you the Top 100, maybe 500, so you’d never even find out. So don’t worry about that one.
I can see you are looking for more unique names? I’ve always liked the name [name]Onyx[/name] for a girl. It’s a type of stone, very beautiful. It’s a black stone, most people might not think it’s beautiful. I do, my favorite color is black. My favorite “uncommon” name for a boy is [name]Zane[/name]. [name]Onyx[/name] and [name]Zane[/name] are awesome names
[name]Freya[/name] [name]Alessandra[/name] is really pretty. Felecity [name]Alexandria[/name] is similar also. [name]Katrina[/name], [name]Catherine[/name], … they also are longer names and really pretty. [name]Stone[/name] and [name]Ryker[/name] sound ok for a boy, along with [name]Jordan[/name] and [name]Reese[/name].
