Help! We’re stuck on baby girl names

Hey guys, I’m having little trouble coming up with girl names so far we got [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Lea[/name_f] or Léa, and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. We also thought of [name_f]Isla[/name_f] but we feel like it would be kind of hard to find a good middle name for it. I like them cuz they sound very feminine but are still quite strong names for a girl.

If we were to pick [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] id like to do [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Lea[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] but I’m not sure how good those would sound together. Or maybe [name_f]Lea[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but I feel like everyone’s got [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as a middle name nowadays.
We’re leaning a lot towards names that are most popular in Europe we’ve come to notice which sucks because there are so many beautiful ones.

If you guys got any other names you can think of that are kind of long and elegant sounding that would be amazing! Unisex names would be great too! ”

I love the name [name_f]Lea[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]! Yes [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is kind of a common middle name but not as popular as [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a beautiful middle name and will totally work!

This is what i imagine long & elegant sounding names to be:
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u]
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabetta[/name_f], an alternative to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]

hopefully that’s okay

I love the name Léa. Here are a few suggestions based on the names you like already and your criteria:

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] - Simply on the basis that it’s long and elegant, it has the “el” sound you seem to like, and it feels strong (at least to me – I read somewhere that some interpret [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]'s meaning to be “beautiful lion.”)

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] - Feels very similar to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in terms of style and because of the “[name_f]El[/name_f]” at the beginning.

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] - [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] feels feminine and elegant like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] does, and it shares the “[name_f]El[/name_f]” beginning, but it’s far less popular, both in Europe and in the United States (though in the UK it is in the top 200).

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] - Another name that starts with [name_f]El[/name_f] and feels elegant. (It’s funny that elegant starts with el, too!)

[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] is a relatively uncommon name, and it has the “[name_f]El[/name_f]” sound from [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] that you seem to be drawn to.

[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] - I thought of this based on the fact that you said you liked names that were feminine but still strong. [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] fits that description well. [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] also has a variety of unisex nickname options, like [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. It is relatively popular in Europe, but it’s only in the top 20 (or even in the top 80) in [name_f]Italy[/name_f].

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] feels elegant yet strong, and it pairs nicely with the names on your list: [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] Léa, Léa [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], etc.

[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] - Again, thought of this because it feels elegant and strong at the same time. Also, [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] Léa is a beautiful combination, in my opinion, or the other way around – Léa [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]. You could also consider [name_f]Julia[/name_f], if you like [name_f]Lea[/name_f]. [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a nice combination.

[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] - [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] has the softness that [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] have. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] is a nice combination.

[name_f]Leila[/name_f] - Feels similar to Léa, but sidesteps the issue of mispronunciation, and has the same -la ending that [name_f]Isla[/name_f] has. You could also consider [name_f]Lila[/name_f].

A few other names I thought of that you might like, though it’s a bit more of a long shot: [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_u]Blair[/name_u]

I think you have lovely options. I just wanted to suggest that if you plan on having more children (or even if you don’t), you may want to play around with sibling names to get a better sense of what your style is. You’re kind of all over the place: [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is long and classic feminine; [name_f]Lea[/name_f]/Léa/[name_f]Isla[/name_f] are short, modern and trend; and then [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is fantastical/Cornish/naturey; and then you also ask for unisex names. It’s hard to know what to suggest since so many styles seem to appeal to you right now.

For instance, if you could see yourself having a [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] someday, then [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]'s your girl. [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_f]Liv[/name_f]? Then [name_f]Lea[/name_f] or [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. [name_m]Declan[/name_m] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]? Then [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. Siblings don’t have to match but I think thinking like this might help cut through some confusion.

I like the thought of [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] , [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Lea[/name_f] or [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].

[name_f]Liliana[/name_f] , [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] might also be names you’d like.

Thanks for the advice, yeah that seems to be the problem I just can’t seem to pin down a name or style as of yet which is why I’m all over the place. I like the elegance of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but short names like isla or lea also have their appeal. They’re lovely names, ”here’s to hoping I can narrow it down soon.

@primbutcher

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] are so lovely tysm ”

@lexisaa

[name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] are all so lovely tysm darling ”
@eleventhbelle

Hm it seems you like E and L sounding names.
I prefer [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] from your favs. [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] has great nn options though! What are your favorite [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] nns?

Other ideas, [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], [name_f]Alessia[/name_f], [name_f]Lilias[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Lena[/name_f], [name_f]Luella[/name_f], [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], [name_f]Lidia[/name_f]

I’m an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and I love my name, loads of nickname possibilities. For that reason though I’d avoid using an L middle.

My parents decided on [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] with nickname [name_f]Beth[/name_f] for me. Problem is you can’t really choose your child’s nickname. My family call me [name_f]Beth[/name_f], but my partner and friends call me [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f], the go to for people I’ve just met is [name_f]Liz[/name_f] and through school I had [name_f]Betty[/name_f]…

[name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] [name_f]Lea[/name_f] (if that were to be the nickname) don’t go so well imo. I know that it’s unlikely that nicknames and middle will be said together, but just a thought.

I’d go with [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. It’s something different yet beautiful and elegant! It goes well with both middles you’ve mentioned. On the wave of the 2018 trend of Welsh names too (Cornish, I know, but Wen endings are very welsh!)

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] being my fave.

Other ideas:

[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (as in Pankhurst) with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - strong yet beautiful!

[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]

What about [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Lea[/name_f]?

Some more suggestions:

[name_f]Mathilde[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonore[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabell[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!

I really love long, elegant, classic names:

[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
