My husband’s favorites are [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] ([name_f]Kate[/name_f]), but I dislike both. I feel terrible crossing them both off the list. Any suggestions on softening the blow?
I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. If your H likes [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Katharine[/name_f], maybe you would both like:
My favorites are [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. Would you consider [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] as middles as a compromise with your hubby? (they’re both gorgeous names!)
Maybe…
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] - I adore this, though I prefer it spelt [name_f]Adeline[/name_f].
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - I love this too, though it’s extremely common in [name_f]England[/name_f].
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - Feels very dowdy to me.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - I personally don’t like this name, but I can see why most people really like it.
[name_f]Katharine[/name_f] - I like this name, though I prefer it spelt [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], and the nn [name_f]Kate[/name_f].
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - Gorgeous, but getting popular.
Humm… I think your name choices are all lovely. I would definitely work on trying to sway his choices as middles.
Or maybe do a nameberry poll and casually show him the results!
I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] the most xxx
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]! Comes with easy nicknames [name_f]Lia[/name_f] or [name_f]Mila[/name_f].
Maybe if you don’t like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], switch it to [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]?
Also love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] because they are his favorites, if you actively dislike them, they should be eliminated. But maybe his favorite(s) of the ones you [name_f]DO[/name_f] like should carry more weight? Your list is lovely though! I particularly love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. My personal preferences to [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], but they are lovely too.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]! I love both of those. If it were me, I would probably look and see which one is less popular right now and pick that one
I wish I liked the other names as much as I like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Katharine[/name_f], I feel like I’m not helping your case.
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] - usually spelled [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. I always think the “line” ending drags down the perfectly good name of [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. She will be lost in a sea of Addies at school… Addisons, Adelaides, and of course there are tons of Maddies. People will sometimes think you’re saying [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is an indistinct name that has no zip or romance. On the plus side, it’s easy to wear.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - far too popular where I live. I met 2 newborn Amelias this year and others of different ages, too.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - a beautiful name, it has style but it also sounds serious. I know multiple Audreys of many different ages - all are popular and well-liked - and they have a variety of personalities from hot mess to glamourous to regal.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - fairly popular, but seems like it might be a good compromise for your family.
[name_f]Katharine[/name_f] - a classic beauty. Would you consider [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]?
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - it’s a beautiful name but I’m surprised it’s an option because it seems like the least “safe” name on your list by a good stretch.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Katharine[/name_f] (I’d spell it [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f])
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
I wouldn’t use [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
