Help! Which name?

I really want go honor my grandma [name_f]Ama[/name_f] with a name that starts with [name_f]Ama[/name_f] or [name_f]Ame[/name_f]. I want to lengthen it but not have it confused with [name_f]Emily[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. Those are just way too popular right now.

I had the following name picked out:

Amelise [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]- I am getting a lot of flack that it will get mistaken for [name_f]Annalise[/name_f], that it’s not a real name, that it sounds like the name of an enzyme.

I still love it anyway but I added a couple more options:

[name_f]Ameline[/name_f] Madalie
[name_f]Ameline[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]

I really wanted to use [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] as a middle name but it does not go with [name_f]Ameline[/name_f].

After much deliberation about [name_f]Ama[/name_f]/[name_f]Ame[/name_f] nsmes this is the only other option I really think I like but it would force me to change the middle name.

I almost just decided on [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] but I think if anyone thinks her name is [name_f]Emily[/name_f]. I’m going to go bonkers!!! Plus [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are so popular right now. I just dont think I can do it.

Amelise getting mistaken for [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] doesn’t bug me nearly as much for some reason!!

Please let me know your thoughts!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Amabel[/name_f] instead? It’s the long version of [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] but seems to fit your want for a longer version of [name_f]Ama[/name_f] perfectly, and steps away from all the [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]/[name_f]Emily[/name_f] issues.

[name_f]Amabel[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is lovely

Or there’s: [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f], Amalthea [name_f]Amara[/name_f], [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]

Out of all the options you’ve noted above I think I prefer [name_f]Ameline[/name_f]. You could always use [name_f]Ameline[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] but pronounced Am-a-leen Mad-a-line (I’m saying this in a British accent btw so my pn may not translate too well if you aren’t!). I think using the opposite pronunciations for each make the name flow fine if you really really love and want to use both names.

Thanks! It probably sounds more lovely in a British accent!!

I dont care for [name_f]Amabel[/name_f]. I dont tend to like bell names for some reason. I know that is the more common name for [name_f]Ama[/name_f] though.

I.like Amelise
