My S/O and I cannot agree on ANYTHING for a boy. He wants something regal, masculine and fantasy-like (think [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings or [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars, Elessar, Cepheus, [name_m]Viggo[/name_m]) and I like more classic and/or biblical names ([name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]). We need to find a compromise! He’s Puerto Rican and I’m Italian so we’d love something that works in Spanish, Italian and English. He doesn’t like “basic” Spanish names ([name_m]Carlos[/name_m], [name_m]Pedro[/name_m], [name_m]Pablo[/name_m], [name_m]Miguel[/name_m], [name_m]Mateo[/name_m], [name_m]Juan[/name_m], [name_m]Jose[/name_m], etc.) and I don’t want anything too weird. We tend to both like names that start with E as well.
Some we considered:
[name_m]Viggo[/name_m] (I don’t like that it means war)
[name_m]Castiel[/name_m]/[name_m]Cas[/name_m]
[name_m]Alessandro[/name_m]/[name_m]Sandro[/name_m]
[name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] (still a contender, but I like names with nicknames)
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] (too many in his family)
[name_m]Dante[/name_m] (don’t love)
[name_m]Diego[/name_m] (he likes but says is too “[name_f]Dora[/name_f] the [name_u]Explorer[/name_u]” esp since [name_f]Dora[/name_f] is a common name in his family)
Middle name would be [name_m]Jos[/name_m]é or [name_m]Antonio[/name_m]. Our girl choices are [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Patrizia[/name_f] and [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_f]Grazia[/name_f] to give you an idea of our combined styles.
I think [name_m]Castiel[/name_m] and [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] are great compromises for you two. You didn’t mention what was holding you back about [name_m]Castiel[/name_m] but you did mention the nn [name_m]Cas[/name_m] which would be such cute and usable nickname. I think [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] has a lot of potential for a nickname to occur naturally. I see there being a lot of options but the ones that come to mind are [name_m]Lio[/name_m]/[name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_u]Ari[/name_u]. Some other suggestions that come to mind are: (most of these are biblical but seem unique or regal enough for your husband)
[name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Cy[/name_m])
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m]
[name_m]Adriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Apollo[/name_m]/[name_m]Apollos[/name_m]
[name_m]Claudius[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Claude[/name_u])
[name_m]Eleazar[/name_m]/[name_m]Eliezer[/name_m] (not 100% sure if these are pronounced the same)
[name_m]Hezekiah[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Kai[/name_u])
Jerecho
[name_m]Lazarus[/name_m]
[name_m]Leviathan[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Levi[/name_m])
Thank you sm! Tbh [name_m]Castiel[/name_m]/[name_m]Cas[/name_m] was a choice we both settled on but then when asked about baby names we said it out loud and it just didn’t feel right. I think you’re right about [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] though. It’s really a wonderful name and I was initially unsure what nickname we’d use but I think I should just let occur naturally. Also [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] as a full name is wonderful and doesn’t NEED a nickname just bc it’s long. I think you’re right!!!
I love [name_m]Rafael[/name_m], [name_m]Emilio[/name_m], [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Xavier[/name_m], [name_m]Simon[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m]! S/O has vetoed quite a few names, but a couple of these might pique his interest. Thank you!!
