I am hoping you can help me pick a name for baby #3, due in February.
We are not finding out gender, and right now I am focused on a girl’s name (boys names are an entirely different challenge!).
Older brother and sister are [name_f]Norah[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
Our top two right now are [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. What do you think of these names with the sibset? And do you think [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] sound ok together?? I’m wondering if they sound too similar.
Any other suggestions are welcomed and appreciated! Thanks for your help!
[name_m]Both[/name_m] names you’re thinking of are lovely. If it were me, [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is too similar to [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] feels a little out of place- she’s so frilly and elegant whereas [name_f]Norah[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are short and sweet.
Some other ideas for a little girl:
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
Good luck! It’s quite a challenge as [name_f]Norah[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are so perfect together it’s harder to find a third.
I really want to suggest [name_f]Lila[/name_f] or [name_f]Cora[/name_f], but [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is obviously out and if we aren’t doing L names, [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is also out. Same with [name_f]Lena[/name_f].
I think that [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] would sound beautiful with your other kids’ names. More names that might sound good with your kids’ names are: [name_f]Mila[/name_f] or [name_f]Milena[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Anja[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] or [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] or [name_u]Harley[/name_u], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]Bella[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f] or [name_f]Mirabella[/name_f], and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
Thanks everyone! I think of the suggestions so far I like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] the best, so I’m adding that to the list. Although there are a lot of great choices that I’m running by my husband.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is definitely off, even though I love it, and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is still in the running, but probably not for long…
What are your thoughts on [name_f]Frances[/name_f] or [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] as a third instead?
Oh, don’t take [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] away! I think she goes just fine with [name_f]Norah[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I do think [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] was too close to [name_m]Leo[/name_m], but I love her. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] doesn’t go at all and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] just is not a name I love. Please go with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]!
Ok thanks for fighting for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], I do love the name by itself! And I like it with the other two names, but I know it’s not a perfect fit. I think my problem is that I haven’t come up with anything I like more that fits better.
As for [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], it came to me this week out of nowhere and I am just really liking it a lot - but I know it’s totally different.
Although [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] does feel somewhat different from [name_f]Norah[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m], I don’t think it’s so different it doesn’t work!
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is such a great name! I do think though it’s so close to [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as to sound a little weird when you say it and see it : /.
As for some others:
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - is a great name, that fits with the homespun feel of [name_f]Norah[/name_f] and has some religious resonance with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] (but not overwhelmingly so if that’s not your tradition). However, it’s definitely stylistically a bit less “in” right now, which is probably your hesitation and others’. To me, the nickname [name_f]Francie[/name_f] can help update it a bit. [name_f]Essie[/name_f] is another nice option. It’s definitely worth considering. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] both sound really good.
[name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] are great!
I think [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] works with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Norah[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] works even better. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] are both great options.
I really like the suggestion of [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].
Other names that your name interests have made me think of:
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Jenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Theresa[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
Hello I think that [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] work really well with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Norah[/name_f]. I also think that something like [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], or [name_u]Riley[/name_u], which are short and sweet. [name_u]Riley[/name_u] could also work for either a boy or a girl my sister just had a little girl and she named her [name_u]Allison[/name_u] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], her older brothers name is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u].
