So I think we’ve settled on a name for our little girl who’s due in [name_f]April[/name_f]! [name_f]Rose[/name_f] L@urel. Our last name rhymes with [name_m]Barton[/name_m]. What do you think? My mothers name is daphne and daphne means laurel… does it flow okay? Too floral? We’ve really struggled with a middle for rose! But we sure do love her first name!!
Other option was to some how find a way to honor my dad michael [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] with her middle… we couldn’t think of anything! or we wait for a boy to do that!
Some finally thoughts would be wonderful before we tell our families!
I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I also love the meaning of [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] to you. I don’t think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] is too floral mostly because of its meaning.
Since [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] also comes from the same Latin root meaning “laurel”, you’d be honoring both parents. So in your case I’d say [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] is very tough to beat! I love that you’re using [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as her first name, one of my all-time favorites.
I think the meaning definitely over shadows the double floral. I would also add that [name_u]Laurence[/name_u]/ [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] means ‘from Laurentium’ which was probably derived from Latin ‘[name_m]Laurus[/name_m]’ meaning ‘laurel’. So to me it’s a double honor
I think you’ve got yourself a winner there! [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] flows beautifully and I love that it has a meaningful connection for you!
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a beautiful name. i’m from holland and my daughters name is [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
i think that for you [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is good name. MI from [name_m]Micheal[/name_m] and LA from laurel. just saying !
My suggestion would be [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] (or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]?) to cover all the honoring at once, if you want to. I think you could save [name_u]Michael[/name_u] or [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] (or [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] or a feminine form of [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]?) for a second child. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] are also gorgeous, though.
I like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]. It sounds so pretty!
Another middle name I like with ‘flower first names’ is [name_f]Acacia[/name_f]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Acacia[/name_f] sounds nice, too (in case you want any more suggestions).
I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] _arton is beautiful, and extremely cleverly honours both of [name_f]Rose[/name_f]'s grandparents by bringing them together ([name_f]Daphne[/name_f]/[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] > [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]). It’s great! A brilliant story for her, about where her middle name came from And laurel signifies peace; what a wonderful association. You’ve got your name!
For the record, I also think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] _arton is very pretty, which surprised me as I don’t usually adore [name_f]Michaela[/name_f], but with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] it’s so elegant! But it can’t beat [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] in this case.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] are perfect names, in my book!
I love [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] to honour a [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] is lovely though. ”
