We already have a [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and a [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and would like help to pick name for our new boy/girl.

I cut all the ones I consider overdone at the moment ie, anything in the top 30. Judging by the names you like I’m guessing you’re a fellow [name_u]Brit[/name_u].

I’m not particularly found of [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f] or [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] sounds harsher than I like, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is a bit plain and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] feels dated to me.

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Orla[/name_f] are fine, I’m just not a huge fan.

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is very sophisticated and timeless, and in a way, very elegant. I think those are all good qualities. It’s growing on me a lot.

I love [name_f]Esme[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. They’re both classic, but don’t feel dated or out of place, and I don’t think they’re too popular.

I also like [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]/[name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]/[name_f]Georgina[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

[name_u]James[/name_u] has the same qualities as [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] to me. It’s probably my favorite on this list. I adore [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] as well, which feels a bit fresher to me. [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is nice, but it almost feels to clunky to me. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] also feels this way to me.

I don’t like [name_m]Jack[/name_m], it sounds too short and sharp to me and it’s a little trendy for my taste. I’m not very found of [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] either, although it definitely sounds like it has the qualities you’re looking for.

[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is adorable as a nickname, but I can’t get on board with it as a full name.

I would suggest [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] and [name_m]Conrad[/name_m].

I’d go with a name that doesn’t end in the “ie” or “y” sound personally. I’d also stick with a two syllable name so it sounds cohesive with your other children.

On your girl’s list I like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Orla[/name_f].
From the boy’s list I like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m].

Have you considered [name_m]Felix[/name_m]? [name_m]Walter[/name_m]? [name_m]Callum[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Cal[/name_u])?

Thanks for all your help, I do like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] but dh does not.

What do you think of [name_f]Aria[/name_f] and [name_f]Honor[/name_f]? Not classic enough to go with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]?

For a girl I would like a 4 letter name to match [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], so [name_f]Esme[/name_f] and [name_f]Orla[/name_f] are still in the running.

[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] just seems so cheerful to me and I like that, also similar style to [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

Not sure about ending the y/ie theme… [name_m]Will[/name_m] they feel left out or will it just seem too matchy matcha if I continue it?

Well since you asked hun, I will give my personal opinion. I feel that you started something with the -y ending/2 syllables that you must now continue. (I have crazy rules like that!) In that spirit, here are some girl names:
