Hi everyone! [name_f]My[/name_f] partner and I are expecting our first baby, a little boy, in [name_f]May[/name_f] and are really struggling with names for him. We’ve got his middle name sorted and it will be [name_m]William[/name_m] after both of our grandas.
Names on my list are:
[name_u]Ayden[/name_u]
[name_m]Cohen[/name_m]
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
I love [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] but the only name my partner likes from the list is [name_u]Ayden[/name_u] and even then he’s not 100%. [name_u]Ayden[/name_u] is my second choice but I can’t help think that it isn’t special or different enough?
Any suggestions you might have would be really appreciated, I want a name for him that’s different without sounding too crazy or out there. Definitely nothing popular, don’t want him to be one of 5 people with the same name in his class!
I really like [name_m]Rueben[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m].
[name_u]Ayden[/name_u] is ok to me but I think I prefer [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] spelling because it looks less trendy to me. I love [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] the most of all your names but not sure it pairs the best with [name_m]William[/name_m] compared to some of your others.
How do you feel about the other names? Does your partner have a list too? [name_u]Ayden[/name_u] is definitely different and special. Heads up, you’re going to get some comments about how [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] is offensive.
I really, really like [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]. If you are looking for something not overly common I would strike [name_u]Ayden[/name_u] from the list as there are sooooo many Aidens/Jadens/Bradens, etc. More suggestions…
Marcus
[name_u]Julian[/name_u]
[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]
[name_u]Sutton[/name_u]
[name_u]Easton[/name_u]
[name_u]Davis[/name_u]
[name_m]Euan[/name_m]
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m]
If you’re looking for a not popular name then I would eliminate [name_u]Ayden[/name_u], [name_m]Cohen[/name_m], and [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. Those are all fairly popular names right now. On the Social Security website [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] ranks #20, [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] ranks #300, and [name_u]Finley[/name_u] ranks #287. So [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is quite a bit more popular than the others. [name_m]Even[/name_m] with it spelled different, you’ll still hear it being called at the playground.
Some names in the #500 spot or lower…
[name_m]Moses[/name_m]
[name_m]Briggs[/name_m]
[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_u]Duke[/name_u]
[name_m]Keith[/name_m]
[name_m]Kylan[/name_m]
[name_m]Drake[/name_m]
[name_m]Tripp[/name_m]
[name_u]Reece[/name_u]
[name_u]Huxley[/name_u]
[name_m]Langston[/name_m]
[name_u]Bodhi[/name_u]
[name_m]Kenzo[/name_m]
[name_u]Onyx[/name_u]
[name_m]Kelvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Anson[/name_m]
We are from Northern [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] and none of those names are popular here, names like [name_u]Harry[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_u]Oliver[/name_u] however are everywhere! We definitely do lean more toward [name_u]Ayden[/name_u] than the others but finding it really hard to really LOVE a name nothing really seems to click.
From your list, my favorites are [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], [name_u]Finley[/name_u], and [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]. I would not use [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] as it can be quite offensive–there are several threads here about that if you’d like to know more! Your list also makes me think of:
If [name_u]Ayden[/name_u] is not extremely popular/common where you live, I would seize the opportunity to use it! It’s a name I really like but wouldn’t use because it has been used so much in the USA in recent years.
I really like [name_u]Ayden[/name_u], [name_m]Cohen[/name_m], and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] from your list. I agree that they’re not “different” enough, but unless uniqueness is a super important quality for you, I would use it. All of them aren’t unheard of, but not overly popular, so I don’t think you could go wrong.
My favorite is [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m]. It has a lot of charm!
I like the suggestion [name_m]Conan[/name_m] as opposed to [name_m]Cohen[/name_m].
I’m personally not a fan of [name_u]Ayden[/name_u] or [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]. Although I love [name_u]Hayden[/name_u].
I have a son named [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] so I love that option but unsure it fits with [name_m]William[/name_m] although just [name_u]Liam[/name_u] would be handsome.
