Hello! So glad I found this wonderful site! We are having a hard time coming up with a name for our baby if it’s a girl. We have a sweet little two year old named [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. We just love her name and how it’s not popular right now…it just fits our babe
Wondering if anyone has suggestions for a girl name that would sound pretty along with [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. I like one syllable names but am open to whatever. I also like older names your don’t hear too often.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
Oh, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]! It’s lovely!!

Thank you - we love it too…and her
I love those names you listed…especially [name_u]June[/name_u]!!! Great job! [name_m]How[/name_m] did you come up with such good ones?
I only know of a friend of a friend who named her daughter [name_u]June[/name_u]…it’s so elegant!
I also like lila, ruth, celia, and really love [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is still pretty common?
[name_f]Glad[/name_f] I could help! [name_u]June[/name_u] was actually the very first one that came to mind. I like it because it’s simple yet elegant, like you said (much like [name_f]Faye[/name_f], I think).
Well, I love [name_f]Faye[/name_f], and I love playing around with sibling sets, so a lot of the names I listed were ones I had added to some of my own lists haha. But I also used one of the nameberry features–you might know about it already–but if you search a name there’s an option at the top of the name page that says “similar names” and it’s super helpful!
I really love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] too!! I think it’s fairly common as middle name, but that not many people use it as a first name. I would actually find it really really refreshing to meet a little girl named [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious though–are you in the U.S. or [name_m]Britain[/name_m] (or somewhere else) because that could probably make a difference.
Thanks - I will check out the “similar names” function!! That’s great.
I also like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] but I think that is becoming pretty popular lately, isn’t it?
We are in the US, how about u?
I’ll try to avoid repeats! Asterisks next to the ones I like best with [name_f]Faye[/name_f].
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_u]Cass[/name_u]
[name_f]Dot[/name_f]*
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]/[name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]*
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_u]Shay[/name_u]
[name_u]Storm[/name_u]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u]*
Not 1 syllable-
[name_f]April[/name_f]/[name_f]Avril[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Demi[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]*
[name_u]Julie[/name_u]*
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Nola[/name_f]*
I’m in the U.S. too. You’re right about [name_f]Isla[/name_f] being more popular lately, which I didn’t completely realize. It’s 167 on the social security list right now, but it’s jumped that high after only six years of appearing on the list at all. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is 224 right now, but has hovered in the 200s and 300s for at least 20 years now.
These are some names that are completely outside the top 1000, like [name_f]Faye[/name_f], as of 2012:
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f]
Of the other ones you mentioned liking, Celia is the least popular (in the 600s and 700s for the past 20 years). Ruth has been in the 300s for a while now. Lila is all the way up to 192.
Thanks so much for your help ladies!!
Other ones I love are
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
