[name_m]Hi[/name_m],
I am going to be adopting a baby boy in [name_u]December[/name_u]. I am struggling to come up with a boy’s name. [name_f]My[/name_f] last name is Irish, beginning with the “[name_m]Mac[/name_m]” sound. Since he will be a blessing, I thought of [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], but that is my brother’s son’s name, so it is a potential middle name. [name_f]My[/name_f] father’s name is [name_m]John[/name_m], but that is quite common. I have a list, but am open to others.
Here is the list, any of them could be middle names as well:
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Greyson[/name_m]
[name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u]
[name_u]Shane[/name_u]
[name_m]Joshua[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
Thanks!
Okay, here are a few suggestions:
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] ([name_m]Jesus[/name_m]'s brother)
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m] (also a blessing)
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] (Persian king that allowed people to have their own religions)
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]
Not sure if those are technically Irish, but I hope it helps. Congrats on the baby!
[name_m]Aaron[/name_m] which means “high mountain” is biblical and popular in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f]. High mountain could be ascribed a meaning like he’s the peak after a long hard journey to adopt. Perhaps I’m reaching? Congrats!
[name_m]Sean[/name_m] is another name that is also biblical and is very popular in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f]. Means “God has favored”. It’s also a variation of [name_u]Shane[/name_u] from your list.
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] also comes to mind, means “God’s present”.
From your list I really like [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] and [name_u]Shane[/name_u].
Oh I love

The meanings are very good.
