Hey
So I am writing a dystopian book, and please give ur honest opinion. No sugarcoating
Four siblings has been without her parents for a year. The oldest cares for herself and her three younger siblings. The locals never liked their parents, and refuse to help them out. What happened to their parents was that they went missing one day. The siblings decide to find their parents, and as they try to piece together what happened, they find they are not in one mystery, but in a whole other big one.
Imma need names for the children :3 Here are their descriptions:
The oldest is a girl of twelve, and is very responsible and feels she never should ask for help, because she can do everything on her own.
The second is another girl of ten, and she is very mischievous and constantly gets in trouble. She doesnât get along with her older sister.
Third is a seven year old boy who always has his nose in a book. He is very quiet and shocks his siblings with knowledge they didnât even know.
Lastly, the twin of the other boy. He was a social butterfly before their parents went missing, and now he is quiet like his twin brother, but has fun on rare occasions.
Anything helps!
To give a better answer, I would need to know more about the world your story is set in. I am also a dystopian writer.
The US was basically ruined by a new ruler who Iâm currently calling Zeid. One side of the US is for rich people, and one side is for the medium and lower class. Zeid doesnât do anything for this side, he leaves them to survive. My story takes place on the Medium and Lower Class side. It is dotted with little villages, and the characters live in what used to be [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_u]Jersey[/name_u]. Does that help?
Oldest girl: [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Morgana[/name_f], [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], [name_f]Elka[/name_f]
Second girl: [name_f]Tressa[/name_f], [name_f]Jinx[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Deryn[/name_f]
Third boy: [name_u]Sterling[/name_u], [name_u]Blaine[/name_u], [name_m]Emrys[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u]
Twin brother: [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Hadrian[/name_m], [name_u]Salem[/name_u]
Give the eldest girl a strong name, maybe some sort of old-fashioned name that could be considered âpopularâ in this future. Suggestions: [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Tamar[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].
For the younger sister you could go with something more girly and soft. Suggestions: [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], [name_f]Juliette[/name_f].
If you want to match the twinsâ names, I would recommend matching them in anything but the first letter. Main characters who are referred to by names with the same first letter can easily be confused when a reading is quickly going through a story. This could be even more confusing with twins! You could give them long, traditional names that have matching nicknames or go for completely different names that still do well together.
Suggestions: [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] & [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] or [name_m]Dax[/name_m] & [name_u]Jet[/name_u]
