[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all, I’m working through my girl’s list and trying to narrow down which combos I like best. Today’s name is [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] (ee-VAN-thee or eh-VAN-thee). I feel like the name [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] gives off really sleek, kind of mysterious almost, and definitely really cool and chic vibes and I’d love to pair it with a middle that matches or enhances that. I have some combos I’m really into but - since I’m really flipping indecisive - can’t decide which one is the best.
Which ones are your favorites? Which don’t work at all? Rank them from fave to least fave, make a love/like/lose list, any input works! Thank you!

[name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Coral[/name_f] ~ I do love this, it’s so sweet for a little one but very wearable as an adult too. They sound good together! [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] ~ I’m usually a -line person for this one but it sounds beautiful either way, it has really great flow [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_u]Sky[/name_u] ~ this has a dreamy main character vibe which I really like [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] ~ I love that [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] means ‘fair flower’ then paired with a floral name, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is elegant and vintagey [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] ~ gives it a classic, regal gravity [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] ~ again the meanings work so beautifully! I kind of love the contrast between airy [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] and strong [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] ~ don’t dislike it by any means, but if I had to be critical, [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] has more of a cottagecore thing whereas [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] is sleek and sparkly [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] ~ it’s okay, I feel like the others are a lot more interesting [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] ~ just personally not keen on [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f]
I would also think of [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f], [name_u]Pax[/name_u], [name_f]Marcilla[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], and [name_u]Lux[/name_u] with [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f]. You also seem to go toward some nature names, so maybe [name_u]Solstice[/name_u] or [name_u]Horizon[/name_u] would fit too.
I like the sets where the middle name has more than one sylllable (Rae and [name_u]Sky[/name_u] don’t seem to balance out the luxury of [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] to my ear; I want the flow to keep going once I’m into it). I like the name [name_f]Coral[/name_f], but it also doesn’t seem flowy. I want to like it, but I feel hesitant. Maybe [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] would work? It seems like you enjoy the -leen/line ending.
I like [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]. However, I can see it possibly being spelled Saraphine/Sarafine/Sarefin by people who don’t know the word. [name_f]My[/name_f] first name is commonly misspelled, so from my own experiences of frustration and misspellings, I’d give a middle name where that won’t be an issue. I have to spell out my entire name to people and that can get frustrating after a bit. If [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] decided her first name is too hard to deal with in some circumstances but still wants to use a part of her given name, it could be helpful to have a more easily recognized middle available. I can see [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] being an option that matches some of your current options. It’s long and gorgeous, but also really only spelled that one way (that I know).
I do like [name_f]Iris[/name_f]! Such a pretty flower, underused (in my opinion), spunky with the option for Rissy as a nickname. Oooh, what’s not to love?
I think I prefer [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] with [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f].

[name_f]Evadne[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is the best! I’m not usually a fan of [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] as a name, but I agree with the other berries who praised [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] to the skies.
[name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Coral[/name_f] is lovely too. The other combos don’t move me as much.
I’m really liking [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_u]Sky[/name_u].
I prefer [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] with [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] as I think [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] with the -the ending needs something with a sharper sound

The only combo I don’t think works so well is [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] because both names really emphasize the middle ‘AN’ sound so it feels a bit repetitive.
I like [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], and [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] best.
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] works better with [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] works better with [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f].
I’m as excited as I’ve ever been on here to see this! [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] has been in my personal top 25 since the invention of the internet I’ve never seen it on a short list, much less made into combos for anyone other than me. And I was done having kids before I knew of the name.

[name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] is a combo I toyed with many times. Again, the right vibe. Oh, weird, I’ve also tossed around [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_u]Sky[/name_u]. So, I’m going with those three as top three on your list.
[name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] tries hard. [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is a lot. So is [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. We’re on the same wavelength with the shorter but interesting mn above because, [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] is A LOT, too, In the best possible way. It doesn’t need much. Like over accessorizing a good black dress. [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] is the good black dress. It doesn’t need a filler mn like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Grace[/name_f], either, but a mn only slighter more interesting.

I think all your combos are lovely, but the ones that really click with [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] imo are:

I think [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is wonderful. [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] suits Evadne’s darker, more subtle vibe and balances out the harder sounds, so the whole combo is more substantial and distinctive than [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f].
[name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Coral[/name_f], [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], & [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] are my favourites. Out of them all I like [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] the most as I perceive it as the most classically beautiful followed by [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] second.
