Help with finding a girl name to honor my dad

Hello all! So I would love to honor my father Kurt Edward but I can’t really find a nice name that I like. First name we are considering (not honor names) Ayla, Zelda, Zosia, Freya, or Belen. We would like the middle name to honor my dad. The only names I’ve really been able to find is Edwina, Edwarda, and Edie and I really don’t like them at all. I have no idea for a feminine of Kurt. Thanks for any help!

I guess another option is my maiden name which is Brown, which I haven’t considered yet, but I’m open to anything.

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Eluned[/name_f]! “ell-uh-ned”

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Eluned[/name_f]
[name_f]Zosia[/name_f] [name_f]Eluned[/name_f]

The first names you’re considering are gorgeous!

Some ideas to honor [name_u]Edward[/name_u] besides [name_f]Edwina[/name_f], [name_u]Edward[/name_u] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f]:

[name_f]Edda[/name_f]
[name_f]Edeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Edina[/name_f]
[name_f]Edna[/name_f]

Would you consider [name_u]Curtis[/name_u]? There’s a female author called [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] Sittenfeld… I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] would be a fantastic option (I adore Freya). Another idea derived from [name_u]Edward[/name_u] could be [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], which I think makes such a sweet name for a girl, whether in the first or middle spot. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is lovely.

Maybe [name_f]Kursten[/name_f] or [name_f]Kirsten[/name_f]?

[name_f]Eda[/name_f]
[name_f]Edana[/name_f]
[name_f]Edelie[/name_f]
Edette
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
Edolia

[name_m]Kurt[/name_m] Edward…

[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
Kit/Kitty
Courtney/Kourtney
[name_f]Kara[/name_f]
True/Tru
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Edna[/name_f]

In [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women, one of the main character’s name is [name_f]Amy[/name_f] [name_u]Curtis[/name_u], so maybe [name_u]Curtis[/name_u]?

Maybe Eden, Kate (sounds like Kurt, could be cool!), Edith, or Curtis! I love Curtis as a girl’s middle — Amy March made it cool!

According to Behind the Name, [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] is a form of [name_m]Conrad[/name_m]. Maybe [name_u]Connie[/name_u]?

I think [name_u]Kit[/name_u] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f] as a middle sound great with all of your first name options, and close enough to [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] to feel like a clear honour.

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] could be another [name_m]Ed[/name_m]- girl name. [name_u]Or[/name_u] even [name_f]Enid[/name_f], [name_f]Eda[/name_f], [name_f]Edeline[/name_f], [name_f]Edelweiss[/name_f], [name_u]Endellion[/name_u]?

[name_m]Brown[/name_m] would also work nicely as an honour for your whole family. [name_u]Or[/name_u] a name which means brown or has a clear association, e.g. [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], [name_u]Coco[/name_u], [name_f]Cassia[/name_f], [name_f]Brune[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], Clove…

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Zosia[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Belen[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f]

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] (sort of like Brown)
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Zosia[/name_f] [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]

[name_u]Curtis[/name_u] [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Other options:
[name_f]Edwina[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Edwina[/name_f] [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]

If you don’t like any feminine variations of [name_u]Edward[/name_u], I would honestly use [name_m]Kurt[/name_m]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_m]Kurtis[/name_m].

Is [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] too much of a stretch? [name_u]Edward[/name_u] > [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] > [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Would [name_u]Eden[/name_u] or [name_f]Edith[/name_f] work? I’m not sure of a feminine version of [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] either, but you could always do the same initials; K.E. [name_f]Katia[/name_f] immediately came to mind when looking at your list. Something like [name_f]Katia[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] would be super sweet.

Another idea is to honor your dad by naming her something about him. For example, there was someone on these boards who wanted to name their child [name_u]Harley[/name_u] to honor their dad, because he loved motorcycles. I’ve thought of honoring my dad by using the name [name_m]Gibson[/name_m] after his favorite baseball player, because watching baseball was a thing that we both love to do together.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that sparks some ideas.

[name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Kirsten[/name_f]
[name_u]Kitty[/name_u]
