Help with girl name please!

We are expecting baby #3 in [name_u]June[/name_u] and don’t know gender. Our first two children are boys with extremely meaningful names that honor family and a close friend that we lost as teens. I feel so much pressure to choose the perfect girl name, but I’m none make me feel like it’s “the one.”

Sons are [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_m]Will[/name_m] ([name_m]William[/name_m]).

Top contenders for girls are:
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] (family name- but both mine and hubby’s names start with M and I’d prefer not to repeat the initial. In the grand scheme, probably shouldn’t be a deal breaker)
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]- called [name_u]Lou[/name_u] (family name but I feel like it runs into [name_m]Will[/name_m] too much with the L. Over thinking?)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] ([name_m]Charles[/name_m] is a family name, so a bit more of a stretch, but works in my mind. [name_u]Haven[/name_u]'t convinced Hubby yet though)

I’m worried I’m overlooking THE name because I’m trying to use honor names, but I know I’m less likely to regret choosing a name with meaning, especially since we have such special names for our boys. I like classic, vintage names and hubby likes 80/90s classics like [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Katie[/name_f]. He has agreed to [name_f]Mae[/name_f] or [name_u]Lou[/name_u].

Middle name will be [name_f]Pamela[/name_f].

If the baby is a boy, we’re leaning towards [name_u]Beau[/name_u] even though it has no significance. We’ve already used 4 honor boy names between our two sons so feel a little better about using an outside name for this (middle name would still honor). Other option would be [name_m]Davis[/name_m] to continue the honor names but I don’t love the nickname [name_m]Dave[/name_m] and would prefer another one syllable boys name or at least nickname like [name_m]Will[/name_m].

Any thoughts or feedback? Thanks for reading!

What if you abbreviated the [name_f]Mae[/name_f] or the [name_u]Lou[/name_u], or even used them both, such as [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f]?
Or just basing the name from [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u], like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_u]Macey[/name_u], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], Luan, [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], Eloise etc. and using [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u] for nicknames.
This could then again be abbreviated, [name_f]Luna[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_u]Macey[/name_u]-[name_u]Lou[/name_u], you get where I’m going.

As for boys names, and for [name_m]Davis[/name_m] this might be a little far fetched but maybe you could use Vis as a nickname rather than [name_m]Dave[/name_m]?

[name_f]Mae[/name_f] – my personal favorite from your list. I don’t have a problem with repeat initials.
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] – also cute. [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is a little hard to say next to [name_m]Will[/name_m] I guess, but not overly so. You could just call her [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. Or [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] could work as a variation, with [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Lola[/name_f] if you want a nickname.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] – also nice, and works as an honor name. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is also a feminine form of [name_m]Charles[/name_m] in case that stands out for you.

I really love [name_f]Mae[/name_f] for you! M@e P@mela is gorgeous and it sounds great with the brother names. I wouldn’t worry about the initials. My brother, my father, and I all shared a first initial and my mother and sister had different (non-matching) first initials and it was a non-issue. The important thing is to give your daughter a name you love.

[name_f]Mae[/name_f] is my favorite. Have you considered [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]?
