Help with girls names!

I am convinced that I’m pregnant and that it’s a girl! I don’t have proof for either of those things, but we’ll call it mother’s intuition! So I’m on the hunt for the PERFECT name and I believe it’s [name]Margo[/name]! It just feels so right! Hubby is on the fence though so I’d like to have a few more options to throw around in case he doesn’t come around. I’ve been feeling less adventurous lately, but I still want something that stands out. I’ve noticed that most names I like sound a lot like something else that’s very popular. I’d like to avoid super popular sounds like -ella, emma, and the letter L in general (it’s seriously everywhere in the school [name]Dash[/name] is going to start going to).

Something familiar but not popular at all. Definitely nothing that feels trendy. I’ve never had a problem with loving “hipster” names before, but now some of my old faves like [name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name] just feel like I’d be trying too hard. Something laid-back but feminine, not frilly, though. Something that will age well. A name that you rarely hear and then when you meet one, you wonder, “why don’t more people use that name?”
I’m thinking along these lines:
[name]Bridget[/name]
[name]April[/name]
[name]Norah[/name]
[name]Betsey[/name] ([name]Elizabeth[/name])… [name]Betsey[/name] can’t stand alone, can she?
[name]Dinah[/name]
[name]Faye[/name]
[name]Anita[/name]/[name]Annette[/name]

Names that are too popular but I would otherwise adore:
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Belle[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Autumn[/name]

[name]Love[/name] but feel too frilly:
[name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!! I would particularly love a B name, but that makes this tall order even taller!

Oh, a B name, [name]Lindsey[/name]? I was about to suggest [name]Berenice[/name], but I’m doubting you’ll be a taker on that one, right? You know, I think [name]Birdie[/name] would be a great nickname with Mister [name]Dash[/name], and I think it is a legitimate nickname for [name]Bridget[/name], which I noticed on your list. What’s stopping you with [name]Bridget[/name] ([name]Brigid[/name]) again? Maybe it isn’t perfect with [name]Dashiell[/name], but it is a fun, underused name. Also, I thought [name]Margo[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Fern[/name] would be so fun! Ideas to follow:

[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Bryony[/name]
[name]Camille[/name]
[name]Diana[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Frances[/name]
[name]Gwendolen[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]June[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
([name]Margo[/name])
[name]Olive[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Ramona[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
[name]Zora[/name]

[name]Lemon[/name]

Well, since I love [name]Margo[/name] too I will give you the rest of my list! I feel like we might have similar taste. My husband loves [name]Clementine[/name], but I too worry that it’s trying too hard to be cool. I also love [name]Beatrix[/name], but it runs into my surname and again with the hipster-ness. So here’s my current faves.

[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Delia[/name]
[name]Helen/name
[name]Patricia[/name]
[name]Susanna[/name]
[name]Sybil[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]/ [name]Sylvia[/name]
I also love any name that can be shortened to [name]Kit[/name] or [name]Meg[/name], and BTW I also love [name]Betsy[/name]! For a long time I was going to use [name]Elisabeth[/name] NN [name]Betsy[/name]. But I know what you mean about liking the name more for yourself-I am that way about [name]Caroline[/name]. It’s my potential Witness Protection Program name!

Hmmmm… tricky. Here are some suggestions:

[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Tamsin[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Sabrina[/name]
[name]Brooke[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Shannon[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Poppy[/name]
[name]Veronica[/name]
[name]Bessie[/name]
[name]Briar[/name]
[name]Bette[/name]
[name]Patience[/name]
[name]Barbara[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Frances[/name]
[name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Greta[/name]
[name]Corinne[/name]
[name]Sage[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Carys[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Teagan[/name]
[name]Heidi[/name]
[name]Heather[/name]
[name]Brianna[/name]
[name]Romy[/name]
[name]Bernadine[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Greer[/name]
[name]Amity[/name]

[name]Do[/name] any of those appeal? I wasn’t really sure…

  • Anon.

[name]Hi[/name]! [name]Bridget[/name] and [name]Norah[/name] are my favorites from your list!
I don’t know if anyone suggested [name]Annabel[/name] - WDYT?

Here’s some under-used classic and feminine names (at least in my opinion):

[name]Cynthia[/name]
[name]Rita[/name]
[name]Marjorie[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name]
[name]Gertrude[/name]
[name]Doris[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Shirley[/name]
[name]Dolores[/name]
[name]Judith[/name]
[name]Edith[/name]
[name]Louise[/name]
[name]Leona[/name]
[name]Gloria[/name]
[name]Marilyn[/name]
[name]Beverly[/name]

  • All of these were popular in the 00-40’s, but are at the bottom of the 1000 most popular list (if on the list at all) right now.

You guys give the best suggestions!

[name]Lemon[/name]- [name]Every[/name] name on your list I would [name]LOVE[/name] on someone else’s child. I really wish I could use [name]Bryony[/name] because I think [name]Bryony[/name] [name]Becker[/name] is really cute, but it just wouldn’t be right for my family. [name]Iris[/name] is one that I really, really want to love, but I just don’t quite. I think you really hit the nail on the head with [name]Camille[/name]. I’m reluctant to use a name with a hard C sound because my brother and sister in law have a [name]Kaelyn[/name] and a [name]Cole[/name] (and a dog named Kota) and I don’t want to steal their sound, haha. I do like [name]Camille[/name], though, nice alternative to [name]Amelia[/name]. Oh, I do love [name]Gwendolen[/name] very much. I love nicknames [name]Gwen[/name], [name]Wendy[/name] and [name]Winnie[/name]. [name]Gwendolen[/name] feels too frilly this time around, maybe just [name]Gwen[/name]?

Phoebesmom- I love the name [name]Phoebe[/name]! It’s one of the ones that I think would be a perfect sister to [name]Margo[/name]! I love [name]Susannah[/name], but [name]Chris[/name] doesn’t like it. I would call her [name]Sunny[/name] [name]Susie[/name]! Also, my cousin recently had a baby named [name]Suzette[/name] that was still born, so I don’t think I could use it. [name]Helena[/name] is one I’ve thought of recently, it’s quite pretty. [name]Nell[/name] is such a sweet nickname. I’m glad you understand what I mean, I like your “Witness Protection Program Name”, haha, that’s what I’ll start calling it, too!

Anon- Wow, that list is amazing! It’s like you’re in my brain! I really, really love pretty much every name on there! [name]Rose[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] (one of my top faves for years, but don’t like the closeness to [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Jenna[/name]), [name]Tamsin[/name] and [name]Sage[/name] are particularly fitting for the feel I want. [name]Sabrina[/name] is the best example of what I’m looking for. I don’t think I’d actually use the name [name]Sabrina[/name], but I guess that’s the sort of feel I’m looking for if that makes any sense at all!

kyemsma- [name]Norah[/name] and [name]Bridget[/name] are my favorites from my list, too! Right now [name]Norah[/name] is the only name that [name]Chris[/name] seems to like. I love [name]Annabel[/name] (or prob. [name]Annabelle[/name]), but I feel like it blends in too much with [name]Isabella[/name]. :frowning:

lizzyq- I extremely love [name]Rita[/name], [name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Cleo[/name]! I almost included [name]Rita[/name] on my list, actually, how funny that you mentioned it! It was my great aunt’s name and she was an awesome lady. I really love [name]Louise[/name] lately, but not for my own child. I went to school with an annoying [name]Gloria[/name] and I can’t separate the name from her unfortunately, otherwise I would really like it. And I can’t bring myself to love [name]Harriet[/name], I wish I could because I love the nickname [name]Hattie[/name].

So, here’s what I’ve got right now:

  1. [name]Margo[/name]
  2. [name]Norah[/name]
  3. [name]Bridget[/name]
  • [name]April[/name] (I don’t know what it is about [name]April[/name], I just find her really sweet and whenever I see it written on a calendar I think about how pretty she looks. [name]Chris[/name] loves this name, too).
  • [name]Gwen[/name]
  • [name]Sage[/name]
  • [name]Sabrina[/name] … nn [name]Bree[/name]?
  • [name]Rose[/name]. I would prefer to use [name]Rosalie[/name] but it’s too frilly right now. Maybe next time around.
  • [name]Ivy[/name]
  • [name]Rita[/name]

Oh I forgot to say [name]Hazel[/name], what do you think of that? I’m not sure I like it or not, but I feel a draw to it. Same with [name]Zelda[/name] (Though [name]Lincoln[/name] nn [name]Link[/name] is set in stone and I will not have [name]Zelda[/name] and [name]Link[/name]!). I think I’m liking 5-letter names a lot.

I like [name]Bridget[/name], [name]Annette[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]. [name]Bridget[/name] is classic and strong, [name]Annette[/name] is classic & feminine, [name]Elizabeth[/name] is simply classic with a many possible nicknames. [name]Penelope[/name] is not as classic although it has a deep rooted history; but it is beautiful. I don’t think it is too frilly. [name]Margo[/name] is beautiful, strong and feminine. Maybe explore alternate spellings like [name]Margaux[/name]??

[name]Hi[/name], [name]Lyndsay[/name]!

[name]Margo[/name]
[name]Norah[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name]
[name]April[/name]
[name]Gwen[/name]
[name]Sage[/name]
[name]Sabrina[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Rita[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Zelda[/name]

Okay, from the start I have to wonder if you are a [name]Sabrina[/name] the Teenage Witch fan. [name]Sabrina[/name] and [name]Zelda[/name], really? Thinking about which names on this list fit with [name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Dash[/name] is important, I think. With [name]Sabrina[/name], you’ve got that classic, romantic, Hollywood feel, but I don’t get the vintage, English feel that [name]Dashiell[/name] gives off. [name]Zelda[/name], to me, sounds dangerous. I think it would be a neat middle name ([name]Zoe[/name] [name]Zelda[/name]?), but as a first name, I can’t say I enjoy it. [name]Zara[/name], a variant of [name]Sarah[/name], I do like, however.

[name]Norah[/name] just doesn’t feel complete to me. I’ve never been a [name]Nora/name fan, though, so I can’t really comment on it past that. [name]Rita[/name] and [name]Gwen[/name] both feel too nickname-y to me, honestly. [name]Rita[/name] is also very old in my opinion, but I can’t think of anything besides [name]Margarita[/name] that you’d get it from. I suppose you could use [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Marguerite[/name] and use both [name]Margo[/name] and [name]Rita[/name] as nicknames, right? Those are both lovely with [name]Dashiell[/name]. And, I think you mentioned that [name]Gwendolen[/name] feels too frilly to you. I completely disagree! Yes, [name]Gwendolen[/name] is feminine and slightly soft, but it also has a great amount of strength and substance. To me, it is very much like [name]Dashiell[/name] - I don’t think it would be “fair,” so to speak, to give [name]Dash[/name] a cool full name but leave [name]Gwen[/name] hanging…

I love both [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name]! I think the only downside to the both of them is a lack of nickname potential. But, they are seriously great vintage nature names! I can’t really choose which I like more, and I think both would suite a child of yours - if a daughter would look anything like [name]Dash[/name] - very well, perhaps [name]Hazel[/name] more than [name]Ivy[/name]. Now, with your other nature names, [name]Sage[/name] and [name]Rose[/name], I think a bit is left to the imagination. [name]Sage[/name] is a fun name, I agree, but it seems to lack a bit of substance, you know? I love [name]Sage[/name] as a middle name, especially in an alliterative combination like [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Sage[/name] (by the way, [name]Sally[/name] is such a fun nickname for [name]Sarah[/name]!), but on its own, I don’t think it matches [name]Dashiell[/name]. Oh, [name]Rose[/name] is so gorgeous! But, if you think you like [name]Rosalie[/name] better, maybe she should be left off the list. I think you do really like a bit of frill (a BIT, like [name]Gwendolen[/name]), but only a measured amount. Does that seem accurate?

[name]Margo[/name] and [name]Bridget[/name] are both great names. I think [name]Margo[/name] works better with [name]Dashiell[/name], but I love [name]Bridget[/name]. Sorry, I need to spell it [name]Brigid[/name] right now - I’d honestly love my own name to be [name]Brigid[/name]! It’s just fun, casual, yet distinctly elegant and unique. Whoops, I forgot [name]April[/name]! I do like [name]April[/name], and I recently met a woman named Aprilann - yes, that combination name slightly ruins [name]April[/name] for me - and she was vibrant and lovely. [name]April[/name] feels a bit soft to me, and it does end in the same way as [name]Dashiell[/name], so I think it might make a nicer middle name. What do you think?

So, [name]Lyndsay[/name], my favorite for you is [name]Gwendolen[/name]. I know you aren’t totally sold on it in full, but I think it has just the right amount of spunk to work with [name]Dash[/name]'s name. Plus, I don’t think you can go wrong with [name]Gwen[/name] as a nickname - so classic and sweet! I do think [name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]April[/name] is lovely, with a family name attached. My other favorites off your list are [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Margo[/name], and [name]Bridget[/name], with [name]Ivy[/name] bringing up the rear! Great, great names, [name]Lyndsay[/name]!

[name]Lemon[/name]

PS [name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]Rita[/name] [name]Rose[/name] [name]Becker[/name] is lovely, especially with [name]Dashiell[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Rowe[/name]. Can you believe the symmetry there? [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Gwen[/name]?

Heres some suggestions for you…

[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Honor[/name]
[name]Anika[/name]

B NAMES:

[name]Brooklyn[/name]
[name]Bonnie[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name]
[name]Billie[/name]
[name]Blakely[/name]
[name]Brielle[/name]

Haha, [name]Sabrina[/name] the Teenage Witch! I did love that show. I like both names but I most likely wouldn’t use either, and definitely not both!!! I don’t know how to explain what I mean about [name]Sabrina[/name], though. It’s something about how she feels more than the actual name itself.

I don’t like the name [name]Margaret[/name] at all, funnily enough. I do like [name]Marguerite[/name], but I prefer [name]Margo[/name] on her own. I wouldn’t use [name]Margo[/name] and [name]Rita[/name], because I think that’d be odd. I think [name]Rita[/name] would be a very unexpected choice and I’d definitely be charmed if I met a little one with that name… I’ve long liked it but it’s never made it so far as to be a true contender, and it probably never will be. If I were going for that sound, I prefer [name]Anita[/name]… but [name]Anita[/name] [name]Becker[/name] sounds like “I need a pecker!”

I do love [name]Norah[/name], though. I’ve always loved her but always thought she wasn’t special enough. But I have nothing but positive associations with it. I’ve thought about it as a nickname for [name]Eleanora[/name], though I’m not a huge fan of the name [name]Eleanora[/name]. I do have 2 prominent ancestors named [name]Eleanor[/name] though, so that connection is a big plus (one is [name]Eleanor[/name] of [name]Aquitaine[/name], the first bearer of the name). I kind of like [name]Margo[/name] and [name]Norah[/name] together since they could both be nicknames for more formal names. I think their perfect match would be [name]Eliza[/name].

[name]Gwendolen[/name] is a great name. And you are right, I do like frilly names. I don’t know if this will make sense to you at all, but I’ll try to explain. I think I’m pregnant (still don’t know, though) and I feel like the baby already has a distinct personality, and it’s not frilly! This probably sounds NUTS but I can tell when I ovulate because I love a new name. [name]Remember[/name] when I loved [name]Cassia[/name]? That was why, it was like it was that egg’s name, haha. See, nuts, right? I told you! But that’s how I feel and this little one does not fit a frilly name. I think I will keep [name]Gwendolen[/name] on the list for another baby, though. I really do love it and I think it would work really well for a daughter of mine.

[name]How[/name] funny that you say [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Sage[/name]! I had an ancestor named [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Sage[/name] and her name is one of my favorite in my whole family tree! Her relatives were [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Sage[/name], [name]Prudence[/name] [name]Sage[/name], [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Sage[/name] and [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Sage[/name]. All born in the 1700s, is [name]Sage[/name] a great last name or what? I think I agree with you about it as a first name, though. I like it for it’s similarity in sound to [name]Jane[/name], but it’s added softness and unusualness. It’s definitely always on the table as a middle name, though.

I’m glad to see some enthusiasm for [name]Bridget[/name]! I wouldn’t spell it [name]Brigid[/name], though, looks like Frigid to me and I definitely pronounce the T. I feel the same way about her as you do, I think it’s just a great name that is very underused! When I was little I named my triplet dolls [name]Bridget[/name], [name]Brooke[/name] and [name]Blossom[/name]. Haha

I don’t think I’d use [name]April[/name] as a middle name… unless maybe she was born in [name]April[/name]. I probably wouldn’t use it in generally unless she was born in [name]April[/name] anyway, not sure. I like it’s softness, though.

I am going to save [name]Gwendolen[/name] for another time. I’m still so stuck on [name]Margo[/name] that something like [name]Gwendolen[/name] just seems crazy right now, haha! But who knows what will happen in the future! [name]Wendy[/name] Darling from [name]Peter[/name] [name]Pan[/name] is my favorite Disney character, so I would love to have a [name]Wendy[/name] of my own!

[name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]Rita[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is great! [name]Rita[/name] [name]Louise[/name] and [name]Ann[/name] [name]Rose[/name] were sisters, so that’d be really sweet! The symmetry is fantastic!

Right now, my sibset looks like this:
[name]Dashiell[/name], [name]Margo[/name], [name]Lincoln[/name], [name]Norah[/name], [name]Griffin[/name] and [name]Bridget[/name]
[name]Dash[/name], [name]Margo[/name], [name]Link[/name], [name]Norah[/name], [name]Finn[/name], [name]Bridget[/name]

  • [name]April[/name] would be the next choice. I am hoping that maybe [name]Rosalie[/name] will feel right next time. Or maybe [name]Gwendolen[/name]. I am more concerned with the names being right for the individual children than with the sibset. Though I would of course prefer a great sibset! I know that [name]Margo[/name] and [name]Gwendolen[/name], or [name]Margo[/name] and [name]Rosalie[/name] don’t exactly go together. But [name]Margo[/name] would be nicknamed [name]Goldie[/name], and [name]Goldie[/name] and [name]Wendy[/name] are cute together, as are [name]Goldie[/name] and [name]Rosie[/name]. [name]Margo[/name] and [name]Gwen[/name] work too, right? If I did have a [name]Gwendolen[/name] she would almost certainly be called [name]Gwen[/name] or [name]Wendy[/name] 90% of the time.

[name]Margo[/name], [name]Bridget[/name], [name]Norah[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Gwendolen[/name]. Hmm.

[name]Ah[/name], [name]Lyndsay[/name]! I love your long posts and stories!

I don’t much care for the name [name]Margaret[/name], either, which is annoying because I’m a huge fan of [name]Maggie[/name] and [name]Meg[/name], but neither is substantial enough to be a first name, I think. [name]Margaret[/name] sounds stuffy to me - not quite like [name]Gertrude[/name] or something! - but definitely not fun and playful, which seems to be what you need, right? [name]Marguerite[/name] is gorgeous, but am I wrong in saying it is a lot of name for a person to handle? Honestly, I like [name]Margo[/name] better alone, too - [name]Goldie[/name] is a fun nickname, but I really like [name]Margo[/name] as is! The girls I know called [name]Margo[/name] are like the perfect mix between feminine and tomboy, smart and sassy, but gentle and romantic. That does feel like it would fit this baby - if it is one! - as you describe her. Your theory doesn’t make total sense, but I get what you are saying! It’s definitely important to find a name that fits your child and your sibling set, I think. [name]Anita[/name] [name]Becker[/name] is cracking me up! I like it more than [name]Rita[/name], but [name]Anita[/name] [name]Becker[/name] just doesn’t work. Hilarious.

[name]Eleanora[/name] is another name that I think is just too long. [name]Penelope[/name], syllable-wise, is just as long, but [name]Penelope[/name] flows off the tongue in a way [name]Eleanora[/name] doesn’t, for me. I feel a bit tongue-tied saying [name]Eleanora[/name], honestly, but it just looks so elegant and incredible! I do think [name]Eleanor[/name] would be a lovely choice for you, with [name]Nora[/name] as a nickname (or the incredible [name]Nell[/name], my favorite!) for her - plus, you’ve got that great historical family connection! I also think [name]Helena[/name] would be a great, unusual way to honor [name]Eleanor[/name] of [name]Aquitaine[/name], and [name]Leni[/name] and [name]Nell[/name] are amazing nicknames for a spunky girl like the one you think you’re having!

If I imagine a female version of [name]Dash[/name], I see a [name]Gwendolen[/name]. That isn’t to say another name wouldn’t fit her - it would! I could also see a [name]Sarah[/name], for instance. But, if [name]Gwendolen[/name] doesn’t fit her personality, it isn’t the right name for this baby! I totally think she should go on the back burner for a future little one…

Oh my goodness, [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Sage[/name] has the most wonderful family names! [name]Nathaniel[/name]! [name]Prudence[/name]! Wow! I’m in love! You know, [name]Lyndsay[/name], [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Sage[/name] would be an incredible double middle name for one of your children. I’m totally, completely taken with it!

[name]Ah[/name], lots of people share your “frigid” sentiments about [name]Brigid[/name]. Actually, I pronounce [name]Bridget[/name] and [name]Brigid[/name] slightly differently to reflect their spellings. I do think [name]Bridget[/name] is just as fun and spunky as [name]Brigid[/name], though! And, [name]Bridget[/name] and [name]Margo[/name] work well together in a very unexpected way, I think. Plus, you could use [name]Birdie[/name] as a nickname for [name]Bridget[/name], and we all know I’m a strong supporter of that one, right?

So, I think [name]Margo[/name] is my favorite for you, followed by [name]Bridget[/name]. [name]Margo[/name] just works so well with [name]Dash[/name], though! [name]Love[/name] that. When are you going to check and see if your even pregnant, [name]Lyndsay[/name]? You’re killing me with suspense!

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Lyndsay[/name],

You know what name I really want you to use? [name]Heathcliff[/name]. There is something so epic about that name, I think. Like, I know the whole “Wuthering Heights” tale is pretty epic, but the name itself just screams awesome to me! I think if I ever met a set of brothers called [name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Heathcliff[/name], I would be blown away. [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Heath[/name]. [name]Just[/name] through in a [name]Willoughby[/name] (call him [name]Wills[/name], like [name]Sheridan[/name]!), and you’ve got a perfect trio in my mind…

[name]Lemon[/name]

That’s so funny! I totally do that too!

I don’t think that [name]Norah[/name] is boring, I think it is a wonderful, lovely name!

And [name]Margo[/name] is a great name! If your egg feels like [name]Margo[/name], maybe she is, lol!

You have some very pretty names that you’re considering! (: I personally like the ‘[name]Margot[/name]’ spelling best.
I know these suggestions aren’t perfect, and might not appeal to you, but…

[name]Lizzy[/name], you do that too? Awesome! I thought I was totally off my rocker!

[name]Lemon[/name], [name]Heathcliff[/name] IS a super cool name! I have thought about it before because I really like [name]Heath[/name]… but I think [name]Heathcliff[/name] in full might be a bit too much name. You are definitely right, though, I would swoon over brothers [name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Heathcliff[/name]. [name]Gwendolen[/name] could be their sister!

Sorry for the multiple posts in response!

[name]Lemon[/name]- [name]Margo[/name] would be called [name]Margo[/name], [name]Goldie[/name] would just be a pet name. But I have loved [name]Goldie[/name] for a long time and it was the main reason I used to like the name [name]Marigold[/name]. [name]Marigold[/name] was too much name, though, and [name]Margo[/name] takes what I like from [name]Marigold[/name] and leaves the “what? Her name’s [name]Marigold[/name]?” factor away. I would also call her [name]Daisy[/name] and [name]Chris[/name] would call her [name]Pearl[/name]. But for the most part she would be [name]Margo[/name].

I’m with you on [name]Eleanora[/name]. I like it a lot more than [name]Eleanor[/name] for some reason, but I don’t think I’d like saying it all the time. It’s funny you say when you picture a female version of [name]Dash[/name] you see a [name]Gwendolyn[/name]! Is the only picture I posted the one of him as “cupid”? He doesn’t normally look so angelic! Haha! If he were a girl, I think a name like [name]Fiona[/name] would fit perfectly, I’m not sure why. He’s such a boys boy that it’s hard to imagine him as a girl, though.

You’re right, [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Sage[/name] would be a really great middle name! Unfortunately though, I don’t know anything about her, and I don’t have anyone else in my family named [name]Sarah[/name] to honor… maybe if I end up with bunches of daughters and run out of important people to honor, haha!

I’m glad you like [name]Bridget[/name], too. I do pronounce [name]Brigid[/name] and [name]Bridget[/name] differently, but [name]Bridget[/name] feels much more natural for me to say, so that’s the one I would use! I actually think I like the look of [name]Brigitte[/name] the most, but I would feel silly pronouncing it in French all the time, even though I do like that pronunciation a lot.

Oh, I have checked to see if I’m pregnant! The tests have all said negative but I just don’t believe it! I have read that sometimes (rarely) it can take 16 weeks before a home pregnancy test works. It appears that it varies for different babies, so even though it worked on time with [name]Dash[/name], it could still take a long time. I am beginning to get discouraged by all the negative tests, though. I’m less sure than I was. But I do have quite a few symptoms and I just “feel” pregnant. Fingers crossed! Anyway, we shall have to wait and see! I’ve already picked out the sweetest crocheted [name]Easter[/name] dress on etsy though, and if I’m not pregnant now, she’ll have no excuse to wear it until [name]Christmas[/name]! Due date would be [name]March[/name] 12. [name]Ah[/name]! Talk about suspense!

Oh! And thank you very much [name]Minnie[/name] and Spider [name]Web[/name] for your suggestions! I like quite a few of them but I am still stuck on [name]Margo[/name]! [name]Chris[/name] decided that he loves it now, too! I sold him on it when i told him I found a hair clip that looks like a goldfish made out of ribbon!

[name]How[/name] does my sibset look?
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Rowe[/name] “[name]Dash[/name]”
[name]Margo[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Ann[/name]
[name]Lincoln[/name] [name]William[/name] Warfield “[name]Link[/name]”
[name]Griffin[/name] [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Cloud[/name] “[name]Finn[/name]”

Which of my girls names works best? I think any of them could potentially be ok. I would love to use [name]Rosalie[/name] next, but does it make [name]Margo[/name] seem dowdy? I like [name]Margo[/name] and [name]Norah[/name] together, but [name]Norah[/name] is the only one that has no nicknames at all, maybe a pet name could be [name]Nixie[/name]? I think [name]Bridget[/name] works well with the rest. I feel like [name]Fiona[/name] would be so perfect, except I am totally set on [name]Finn[/name]

Oh! And I’m worried [name]Margo[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Ann[/name] doesn’t have that extra something special! I really love it though, just wish I could dust it with a little glitter. I also like [name]Margo[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] and [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] ___. Something about [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] really seems great to me. My fave is [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] but I have no reason to use [name]Jane[/name] other than loving it. Maybe [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]May[/name], [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Marie[/name], or [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Lane[/name]?

[name]Lyndsay[/name], you seriously crack me up. Hopefully you’ll get a positive test someday soon!

I think [name]Margo[/name] really is it for you. [name]Margo[/name] has this reserved, demure personality coupled with a saucy, bold persona in my opinion - it’s like the best of both worlds in a name, right? So, I just am really loving it for you. Plus, [name]Goldie[/name] is grand, [name]Pearl[/name] is precious, and [name]Daisy[/name] is just darling…

[name]Margo[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Ann[/name] is lovely, but am I the only one feeling a bit said that all the boys have alliterative combos and Miss [name]Margo[/name] doesn’t? Honestly, I’m completely taken with [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you have any C family names left on the list to use, other than [name]Cloud[/name]? If we’re going off of letter sounds, [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Sage[/name] would work, but [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Cate[/name] is so very sweet, too. [name]Margo[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] fits the bill to a tee, but [name]Margo[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name] doesn’t sound quite right to me. What about [name]Margo[/name] [name]Lucretia[/name] [name]Lane[/name]? Is [name]Lane[/name] a family name, or did you just like it? Or, [name]Margo[/name] [name]Mabel[/name] Darling?

As for which name to use next, I’d say [name]Rosalie[/name] (or [name]Rosemary[/name]?) would be great. If not, what about [name]Helena[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you like that name? [name]Helena[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] is gorgeous! I’d say [name]Gwendolen[/name], but you’ve got [name]Griffin[/name], and it doesn’t seem right to use both…

And, for the boy names, does it bother you that [name]Lincoln[/name] and [name]Griffin[/name] both have the same end sound? Again, I’m bothered by those tiny details. It’s kind of a problem. I’d nix [name]Griffin[/name] and throw in [name]Gwendolen[/name] for a future girl, myself, but if you’re set on [name]Finn[/name], how else can you get it? [name]Phineas[/name]? Great with [name]Dashiell[/name], for sure! I’m in love with [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]William[/name] Warfield, though - awesome.
