Help with Gwendolyn

Hello Berries! I have a bit of a naming conundrum. If baby #3 is a girl, I would love to honor my Grandma [name]Gwen[/name] (we call her GG) by using her name. The problem, for me, is that [name]Gwendolyn[/name] is about as far from my personal naming style as you can get. My daughters both have unisex/non-frilly names. They do however have girlier middles. I just cant seem to find a name combo that a)is in keeping with my daughter’s names and b) flows with my last name, Kenison. Any suggestions?

I am open to all opinions!

What about another [name]Gwen[/name] name, like [name]Gwyneth[/name], or just [name]Gwen[/name]? Also, [name]Gwendolen[/name] is the original spelling, maybe it will appeal to you more without the y?

I think my main issue with [name]Gwendolyn[/name] is the rhyming ending with my last. My husbands family has an accent that makes the -son ending sound like -syn. So maybe using a different [name]Gwen[/name] name WOULD be best.

Yeah, the 3-3 rhythm on top of an -n ending is going to make the rhythm a little weird. I think [name]Gwen[/name] or [name]Gwyn[/name] is fine with your last name though ([name]Gwyn[/name] maybe better than [name]Gwen[/name] because of [name]Ken[/name]), goes with the other girls, and still honors grandma.

What about [name]Gwendolyn[/name] or a [name]Gwen[/name] name as a middle too?

Ooh also since you call her GG…I am loving [name]Grier[/name]/[name]Greer[/name] with your other girls’ names ([name]Noa[/name], [name]Rorie[/name], [name]Greer[/name]). [name]Greer[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] (or [name]Greer[/name] [name]Gwyneth[/name]) is pretty alliteration that works, to me.

What about [name]Gwyneth[/name], [name]Gwenda[/name], Gwenllian or [name]Gwenore[/name]/[name]Guinevere[/name]? Maybe use [name]Gwendolen[/name] as a middle name?

[name]Ione[/name] [name]Gwen[/name]/[name]Gwendolen[/name]
[name]Lux[/name] [name]Gwen[/name]/[name]Gwendolen[/name]

I think you could use [name]Gwendolyn[/name] in the middle spot easily - sure, it’s a bit rhymey but I personally like it. Then you could use a more unisex first name and follow a similar pattern to your other girls’ names. Something like [name]Bailey[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] Kenison, for example (I have to admit that unisex names are not really my thing for girl, but I do happen to like a few!

I’m thinking that many unisex names end with an -an, -in, or -on ending, which also rhymes with your LN, so perhaps look for different endings?
I searched through some lists and came up with the following:

[name]Justice[/name]
[name]Kyle[/name]
[name]River[/name]
[name]Lane[/name] (I think this one doesn’t rhyme too much)

If you really want to honor GG in the first name spot I agree that you could simply go with [name]Gwen[/name] or a shorter variation (although, to be honest, the name [name]Gwendolyn[/name] is one of my all-time favorites).

What about using your Grandmother’s name as a middle name? You would still be honouring Grandma [name]Gwendolyn[/name] but you could use a first name that actually works with [name]Noa[/name] & [name]Rorie[/name].

Suggestions:
[name]Willa[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] - [name]Noa[/name], [name]Rorie[/name], and [name]Willa[/name] Kenison

[name]Peyton[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] - [name]Noa[/name], [name]Rorie[/name], and [name]Peyton[/name] Kenison

[name]Emery[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] - [name]Noa[/name], [name]Rorie[/name], and [name]Emery[/name] Kension

[name]Isis[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] - [name]Noa[/name], [name]Rorie[/name], and [name]Isis[/name] Kension

[name]Tate[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] - [name]Noa[/name], [name]Rorie[/name], and [name]Tate[/name] Kension

[name]Erica[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] - [name]Noa[/name], [name]Rorie[/name], and [name]Erica[/name] Kension

[name]Lena[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] - [name]Noa[/name], [name]Rorie[/name], and [name]Lena[/name] Kension

[name]Lila[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] - [name]Noa[/name], [name]Rorie[/name], and [name]Lila[/name] Kension

If not I would just use [name]Gwen[/name]. As she honours [name]Gwendolyn[/name] in the first name slot, but [name]Gwen[/name] works far better with [name]Noa[/name] and [name]Rorie[/name] due to the names being really short and have a spunky feel. I think the names work well together.
