[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all, I’m working through my girl’s list and trying to narrow down which combos I like best. Today’s name is [name_f]Lara[/name_f]. I am pronouncing [name_f]Lara[/name_f] as LAR-uh (first syllable like Lars) although I do like the LAIR-uh pronunciation as well. I do find the name slightly peanut buttery in the mouth, but not enough to put me off. Therefore I’m looking for a name that balances out that slight awkwardness and fits with Lara’s cool, laidback vibe.

It grabbed me straight away for some reason. I don’t even have [name_f]Kristine[/name_f] on my list (although I have many other [name_u]Chris[/name_u]- names) but I really like the German/Scandinavian vibe of this combo (although I am pronouncing [name_f]Kristine[/name_f] the [name_f]English[/name_f] way, with 2 syllables). [name_f]My[/name_f] concern is that… is this combo too plain?
The contenders
[name_f]Lara[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f] - sleek and pretty, but I am considering [name_f]Celine[/name_f] as a middle for a few other names already
[name_f]Lara[/name_f] [name_u]Holly[/name_u] - I think these names just fit together. Like this combo just goes. But, does it sound good? I think [name_u]Holly[/name_u] actually makes [name_f]Lara[/name_f] a little bit more peanut buttery. I want the combo to work but I’m not sure if it does.

[name_f]Lara[/name_f] [name_u]Promise[/name_u] - I have had [name_u]Promise[/name_u] on my list for a long time but honestly I am considering taking it off. It’s almost a bit cheesy as a name to me now. But I can’t deny that this combo sounds good.
