My husband and I need inspiration and opinions on middles for our two top picks for girl names. We are debating between [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Elise[/name_f], but we were thinking that maybe finding a middle for each of those would help us pick! We are open to using family names, although I’m always worried that someone will be hurt if you name them after someone else… we are [name_m]French[/name_m] and English speaking so name must be pronounceable in both languages. The name we have picked if we have a boy is most likely [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benoit[/name_m].

My top girl name is Rosie Henrietta! We are also a French and English speaking household so I came up with that name combo after wanting the names to translate easily. I went with Rosie instead of Rose to make it a little easier to pair with a middle name. I find single syllable names often hard to place as a first name! I do think if you go with Rose, a longer and multisyllabic middle name would go well.

[name_m]Feel[/name_m] like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] would both slur into [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f] a bit if you say them out loud… not sure if that bothers you.

I like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] much better than [name_f]Elise[/name_f], but the fact that [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is uncommon where I’m from gives it a new appeal!

Many of the names suggested are lovely, sadly some of them we can’t use because of friends and family and their babies! Especially [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], which we love but can’t use. But from all the suggestions, I’ve noted down :

I agree that [name_f]Celia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] with both names run into each other! [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Celia[/name_f] was our top name, because in [name_m]French[/name_m] it’s not so bad, but I’m having trouble with it in English.
For now , I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] is still our front runner. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you all pronounce it Ee-[name_m]Lay[/name_m]-[name_m]Nuh[/name_m], Ee-[name_m]Len[/name_m]-uh, Eh-[name_m]Len[/name_m]-uh (which is closest to [name_m]French[/name_m] way) or Eh-[name_m]Lay[/name_m]-nuh?
I pronounce [name_f]Elena[/name_f] eh-[name_m]Lay[/name_m]-nuh, but eh-[name_m]Len[/name_m]-uh totally makes sense. Stateside I most often see eh-[name_m]Lay[/name_m]-nuh or ee-[name_m]Lay[/name_m]-nuh.
