I’ve just been told that my top 10 boys names are rather boring. And you know what? I completely agree! So I need your help jazzing up my list! Suggest different names, change the middle names…whatever you think will help. Currently, my top 10 are:
[name]Aaron[/name] [name]Timothy[/name] – This is a good, solid name that I like a lot, though I can see why some would find it boring.
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Spencer[/name] – This isn’t my style, but I don’t see it as boring. Depending on where you live, some might find [name]Camden[/name] a little on the “out there” side, and other places will find it passe.
[name]Carter[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] – Another good, solid combo, though I’m not impressed with the flow
[name]Dawson[/name] [name]Cody[/name] – At the risk of sounding awful, this name makes me think of something a teen mom might like. I guess it’s the [name]Dawson[/name]'s Creek thing, plus [name]Cody[/name] has always struck me as particularly teen-ish.
[name]Finn[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] – [name]Finn[/name] isn’t boring right now, it’s hot! Trendy too, so that’s a question about whether to use it. [name]Alexander[/name], however, bores me to tears.
[name]Gregory[/name] [name]James[/name] – Boring, especially if you go by [name]Greg[/name]. [name]Gregory[/name] isn’t a bad name, it just seems very dated.
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Brandon[/name] – [name]Love[/name] love love [name]Isaac[/name]! [name]Brandon[/name] kind of brings it down [name]IMO[/name].
[name]Leland[/name] [name]Michael[/name] – I don’t know that I’d call it boring, but it does seem a bit dated.
[name]Levi[/name] [name]Matthew[/name] – This is handsome. Sure [name]Levi[/name] is shooting up the charts, but it’s a great name!
What do you think of [name]Tobin[/name] or [name]Brendan[/name] or [name]Brennan[/name]? I can see a [name]Benjamin[/name] or [name]Rowan[/name]/[name]Roan[/name] mixed in there too. [name]Noah[/name] keeps coming to mind, but it is a bit boring. [name]Reid[/name]? [name]Rhys[/name]? [name]Owen[/name]? [name]Micah[/name]? [name]Simon[/name]?
I don’t find your list boring at all…do any of the names have particular meaning or importance to you? I would focus on finding a name that has some particular significance to you…I think you may be more excited about a name with that approach.
I’m expecting twins in [name]April[/name] (boys) and we are giving each baby a family name for first name, then a name that we just like for the middle name. We’ll probably call the boys by their middle names.
[name]Aaron[/name] [name]Timothy[/name] - I really like this! It’s very sweet and stable.
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Spencer[/name] - Not so fond of [name]Camden[/name]. [name]Spencer[/name] already seems dated and faded to be.
[name]Carter[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] - This is pretty cute. I love [name]Daniel[/name].
[name]Dawson[/name] [name]Cody[/name] - I like [name]Dawson[/name]; not so much [name]Cody[/name]. I think it sounds too trendy.
[name]Finn[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] - [name]Finn[/name] has always sounded incomplete to me. [name]Alexander[/name] is a sturdy classic.
[name]Gregory[/name] [name]James[/name] - Like! Cute and classic.
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Brandon[/name] - I like both of these names, but not together.
[name]Leland[/name] [name]Michael[/name] - This is okay.
[name]Levi[/name] [name]Matthew[/name] - I really like this. Very nice.
I think you have a great list of handsome names! I like them all, but my top five favorites are [name]Aaron[/name] [name]Timothy[/name], [name]Gregory[/name] [name]James[/name], [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Brandon[/name], [name]Finn[/name] [name]Alexander[/name], & [name]Carter[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]. [name]Timothy[/name] [name]Aaron[/name] would be wonderful too! (Also love: [name]Aaron[/name] [name]Gregory[/name], [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Timothy[/name], [name]Timothy[/name] [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Gregory[/name] [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Timothy[/name] [name]Daniel[/name], etc.) A set of solid one- two- and three-syllable name combos like this allows for a lot of mixing and matching.
Wow! Thanks for the suggestions. I definitely have some rethinking to do! The only name on that list that really has any significance is [name]Brandon[/name], which I am thinking about changing to [name]Brendan[/name] now. That can only be used as a MN though as it is my brother”s name. I would list my favorites, but there are too many of them! Thanks everyone!
