Help with my early baby boy list

Hi Berries :herb:

I’m working on a name list for my baby boy (due in 2022). I want something bohemian and a little eccentric, that tips its cap towards history, literature, or nature. (Both my partner and I love ancient history (especially Roman), literature, and the outdoors.)

I’d love your opinion on the following names, especially how usable they are in your opinion, and what else you might add to my list:

Hawthorne (nn Hawk or Thor)
Rivers (this name has a family meaning)
Marlow / Marlowe (nn Mars)
Romulus (nn Romi or Roms)

Surname is Irish, ending in a “y”, so we’re avoiding names that end with an “ee” sound (e.g. Jamie). Thank you! :green_heart:

I think all of these are usable, although [name_m]Romulus[/name_m] feels the most out there to me, and it’s my least favourite. I’m also not a massive fan of [name_u]Rivers[/name_u], although if it has meaning to you I think it could be cool as a middle name.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] and [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]. I adore them as well as both nicknames, and I feel like they fit the vibe you’re going for.

Here are some other ideas:

[name_m]Apollo[/name_m]
[name_u]Seneca[/name_u]
[name_u]Jupiter[/name_u]

All these strike me as usable

@greyblue – Thanks for the feedback! I sometimes wonder if [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] feels a bit too much in terms of the long vowel sounds, but I do really love it, and can just picture it on my little one. I’m also really into [name_m]Romulus[/name_m] at the moment … but think I will have a harder time convincing my partner to agree…! [name_u]Will[/name_u] continue to post up as we go. :green_heart:
