Which one is better? Some reasons I pick those name: first, I’m a Vietnamese originally and her Vietnamese name is Ha [name_f]My[/name_f] (meaning a beautiful river) so I would love to give her a name that later on she can relate to her Vietnamese name, that’s why I pick some names starting with HA-, or even HAME- / HAMI- .
Second, my husband and I havd tried for more than 5 years to have this baby so there comes [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] name, meaning “blossoming”. And if we end up choosing this name, I think it would be [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] for her first name and Ha-My for her middle name.
Welcome to Nameberry and congratulations on your daughter!
This is such a beautiful sentiment and Thalia is such a beautiful name. That’s definitely my favourite of your options, paired with her Vietnamese name it sounds perfect.
How about Harmony, Haley, Hannah, Hadley, Hallie, Harlow, Hanalei or Harriet, for more established options that still begin with Ha-? I would worry with choices like Hamelia or Hadalynn that they could be frequently mixed up with the much more popular Amelia or Adalynn and that could get frustrating for her or you.
Harmony feels like a particularly good option for you: it contains a lot of the sounds of Ha-My and obviously has a wonderful harmonious meaning that feels quite fitting for a precious baby born after such a long wait.
This. I also like keeping her Vietnamese in it’s full form as a middle name rather than integrating into a first name, so my choice would be Thalia Ha-My Also Thalia is gorgeous and has such a lovely meaning for you.
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f] Ha-My is lovely and my favourite of your list. I agree with [name_f]Katinka[/name_f] that more established Ha options may work better - my favourites are [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] Ha [name_f]My[/name_f] would be a stunning name for your daughter. What a lovely meaning and sounds great too. Blossoming [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u]
Moms, I need your help again. So when I set to the name Thalia Ha My, found out there are several ways to wrrite it. Which one you think is better in terms of spelling and writting? I want it to be pronounced as Tha-lee-ah
Thalia
Thalya
Thaleia
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f] is my favorite spelling, but I just found out that [name_f]Hana[/name_f] means blossom and starts with Ha, so I think that checks a lot of boxes for you if you want to consider it.
I love the traditional spelling of [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], also because of [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_u]Jackson[/name_u] series. [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] is one of my favorite characters, and it’d be cool to be able to share a name with her.
I definitely prefer the [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] spelling! Congratulations!!! [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] Ha-My is a stunning name and has the most beautiful meaning.
