Help with my long list

Help me pull some jewels out of this mess! Or give me some suggestions. I think I have name fatigue. The asterisk indicates favorites. We aren’t expecting yet, but start IVF in a couple months.

There are several different styles represented here. I like classic names, but I also like bolder, unique choices. I’m not too into trendy names (ala [name_u]Jaden[/name_u], [name_u]Brayden[/name_u], etc). My husband’s sole contribution thus far has been [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m] (which you will notice is not listed, because Corn- amirite?) Actually, he also contributed [name_u]Guthrie[/name_u] and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] as well.

Last name is one syllable, starts with “S” and rhymes with [name_m]Black[/name_m]. I’m not afraid of a little alliteration or assonance. I don’t have any combos worked out.

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]- I know a [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], you could do that. I do like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]- masculine version of my name, love it
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u]-kind of mainstream but so cute and spunky
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]- A classic I love
[name_m]Abraham[/name_m]-see [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]

I just wanted to add that [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Clyde[/name_m], [name_m]Truman[/name_m], [name_u]Wallace[/name_u], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_u]Lionel[/name_u], and most of your others are good as middle names. Ignatious I can only think of Sebastion from the little Mermaid (but I was in a production of that musical somis wouldn’t be a normal association). [name_m]Otto[/name_m] I like as a first or middle (for a different Czech name you could consider [name_m]Adamec[/name_m])

Some of my favorites (in no particular order):

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] - waaaaaay underused name ([name_f]IMO[/name_f]); soft, yet strong
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] - underused classic; it’s handsome and well-known, but not overly saturated
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - my favorite boys name; it’s getting really popular, but gosh it’s just so handsome
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] - handsome and less common than [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]; international and is easy to spell and pronounce
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - this name definitely has the “cool” factor; negative is that a lot of people are discovering it and it has thus been climbing the popularity charts and will probably continue to do so
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] - love this Irish surname name; it’s great in full form and also has great nicknames ([name_u]Sully[/name_u] and [name_u]Van[/name_u])
[name_u]Ari[/name_u] - I have this as a nn for [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] on my list. I love it. It’s simple but packs enough of a punch.
[name_m]Abram[/name_m] - familiar but not overly used and not trendy; I adore the nn [name_m]Bram[/name_m] and also like [name_m]Abram[/name_m] in full
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] - so classic but has a lot personality and is not bland like some other classics ([name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]William[/name_m], etc.); downside is it’s pretty popular right now and is increasing in popularity every year. Could reach top 10
Tie: [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] & [name_u]August[/name_u] - both great, solid names with good nn’s ([name_u]Spence[/name_u], Auggie/[name_u]Gus[/name_u]) but also sound good in full

The names I’m not really a fan of are ones like [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m], [name_m]Rufus[/name_m], [name_m]Harold[/name_m], [name_m]Fergus[/name_m], etc., but that’s just because they aren’t my style or remind me of old men.

B: [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]–Cool name, quirky yet strong
C: [name_m]Clyde[/name_m]–A bit cowboy, a bit old man, a lot of cool
D: [name_m]Duncan[/name_m]–Not my favorite from your list, but it’s a nice name
E: [name_f]Endeavor[/name_f]–When I was pregnant with my first, my parents joked about calling the baby Endeavor because it was right after some rocket launch or something. I have lots of positive associations with this name!
F: [name_m]Fergus[/name_m] (what about [name_m]Ferris[/name_m]?)–both of these are on our list for boy #2, and I like Ferris better than Fergus
G: [name_m]Grover[/name_m]–Good name
L: [name_m]Louis[/name_m]–A bit “dull” compared to some of your others, but solid and respectable
M: [name_m]Milo[/name_m]–I love that you have both Milo and Otis on your list.
O: [name_m]Otis[/name_m]–Think I like Otis slightly better than Milo. It’s just less common (not that Milo is all that common)
P: none; how about [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]?
R: [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]–This is high on my list
S: [name_u]Seneca[/name_u]–Thanks for reminding me of this wonderful name!
W: [name_m]Wiley[/name_m]!–This is actually #1 on our list for boy #2 right now. There are other names I like better, but for some reason I’ve found myself referring to him as “Wylie” (our preferred spelling) in conversation, so that’s gotta mean something.

Stand out to me is [name_m]Pascal[/name_m], I adore this name for a boy.
You rarely if ever hear it and it just has a unique, bold and distinctive charm to it!

Thanks guys! I’m glad to see all the love for [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and [name_m]Clyde[/name_m]. I think they’re my two favorites at the moment. Fruitofdreams- I love [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m].

I don’t know that I’m any closer to narrowing down, but it’s good to hear what other people think. I’ve been name shopping too long- I’ve lost all perspective! (Kind of like being in Target so long you start to think a purple fringe vest is a good idea).

Any combo help you all could give would be much appreciated.
