[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’ve been looking for a new name to go by for quite a while now and I still haven’t stumbled across one I feel comfortable with!
I’ve respectively tried out [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_m]Balthasar[/name_m] for a while and while I still really like them, they somehow didn’t really fit.
[name_f]My[/name_f] last name is quite clunky (nine letters/three syllables), so it felt a bit much…
I’m looking for a gender-neutral to (soft-er) masculine name that’s useable in [name_m]German[/name_m]!
I’ve definitely got a soft spot for names starting in B, old-fashioned/ancient and nature-themed ones.
(Bonus points for really cute nicknames!! which I feel like my other choices lacked;
Some (albeit very english-influenced) names I like vibe-wise are:
-Cosmo
-Fisher
-Merlin
-Remi
-Shepherd
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any ideas for semi-short to moderately sized names in a similar style?
(Or an idea to de-clunk [name_m]Balthasar[/name_m], because I love the overall aesthetic of the name so much )
Thank you!!
I don’t live in [name_u]Germany[/name_u] and I only speak a tiny bit of [name_m]German[/name_m], so I don’t really know what names are usable in German… but I will try to help anyway!
from your list I like [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] and [name_u]Remi[/name_u]!
Other suggestions…
[name_u]Blake[/name_u] (it’s gender-neutral but the sound is kind of harsh with that k)
[name_u]Brooks[/name_u]
[name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] (even though it’s a classic and pretty long, it sounds soft to me. Comes with nn Benji!)
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] (can’t think of any nicknames for boys for this name… maybe [name_u]Bell[/name_u]? but that would get confused with Belle…)
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
[name_u]Darcy[/name_u]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_u]Gale[/name_u] (although i’m team peeta, iykyk)
[name_m]Baz[/name_m] / [name_m]Bas[/name_m] is my favorite nickname for [name_m]Balthasar[/name_m] – does that help de-clunk it? (I love [name_m]Balthasar[/name_m], too!) [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe [name_m]Bastian[/name_m]?
I’m not quite sure if all of these are workable in [name_m]German[/name_m], but I’ll suggest:
