Help with name for third boy!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], all! [name_m]Long[/name_m] time reader but this is my first post. We are expecting our third son in [name_u]March[/name_u]. The older two are [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] (nickname [name_m]Tommy[/name_m]) and [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] [name_u]Jordan[/name_u]. Last name is one syllable and rhymes with doll. We are pretty set on [name_m]Henry[/name_m] for the first name (only concern being popularity). We are having trouble deciding on a middle name. We’ve narrowed it down to the following:

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] (our favorite because of the way it sounds and meaning, “beloved,” only concern being the [name_m]Thoreau[/name_m] connection)

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Albert[/name_m] ([name_m]Albert[/name_m] being an honor name for my late grandfather, but I don’t love the sound as much)

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] ([name_u]Ellis[/name_u] being an honor name for my late MIL, but I don’t love the middle initial “E.” With [name_m]Henry[/name_m]…”[name_m]Henry[/name_m] E.”)

The other name that we are considering is [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Albert[/name_m], but we like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] better.

What say you?? Any other ideas or suggestions, or comments? Thank you!

I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] how about [name_m]Albie[/name_m]/Bertie as a middle name? Otherwise [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Albert[/name_m] are stunning x

I feel like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] is definitely right for you and the [name_m]Thoreau[/name_m] connection is not a huge deterrent imo, especially with a different last name. That’s the combo I’d go with, personally. You could tweak and go with [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Davis[/name_u] if it irks you and retain the same meaning

I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m]!

If you hadn’t mentioned it, it would’ve take me a loooonnngg time to realize the [name_m]Thoreau[/name_m] connection so I wouldn’t worry about that.

I don’t think he would be referred to as [name_m]Henry[/name_m] E. very often if his name was [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. Maybe on a credit card or something? Unless you have a super common last name.

You’re probably right! However, I am an attorney and use my middle initial on all correspondence and court documents so it gets used a ton! So because of that I have a preoccupation with a middle initial that sounds and looks good!

Henry [name_m]David[/name_m] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]

Henry [name_m]David[/name_m]. Or go for a [name_u]New[/name_u] Testament middle name (like [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]) such as [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] (all three would have J middle names), [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Philip[/name_m], [name_m]Simon[/name_m].

I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m]! I don’t think people would automatically connect it with [name_m]Thoreau[/name_m]. However if it bugs you, [name_u]Davis[/name_u] is derived from [name_m]David[/name_m] and has the same meaning.

I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m]! I did think of [name_m]Thoreau[/name_m], but I don’t think it’s overpowering.

Henry [name_m]David[/name_m] is lovely! I have no idea what the [name_m]Thoreau[/name_m] connection is so it’s your call on whether it’s big enough where you are to be a deal-breaker
