[name_m]Calloway[/name_m] works very well, and the potential nn [name_u]Cal[/name_u] is a plus. Have you decided yet?
[name_m]Calloway[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] gets the E in the middle! But I also don’t think an E is necessary. [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] [name_u]Evan[/name_u]. [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] [name_u]West[/name_u]. [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m].
I wonder if the problem is actually the “e”? I feel like a lot of your problem is so many of the nice surname names that start with E…start with [name_f]El[/name_f], and are thus being taken over by the girls.
If part of you is still want to go with E (which is how it kind of sounds) I would look beyond surnames and put something “southern” or surnamey in the middle.
I’d also try to steer clear of names that may sound too much like the names of your other children. If it sounds like number four’s name is getting lost in the mix, that could be a huge reason why a lot of the E names don’t seem to fit.
Some examples:
[name_u]Easton[/name_u], [name_m]Everley[/name_m], Ensley and…
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_u]Cody[/name_u]
It has a definet cowboy feel, for sure masculine, and doesn’t sound too much like the names of your other children. It’s cute on a baby, and handsome on a grown man. Doesn’t lend itself to any nicknames.
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] has that nice [name_f]El[/name_f]- sound at the beginning while still being strongly masculine. Nickname [name_m]Eli[/name_m] is super cool. Middle name Tucker gives both boys the same initials, like your girls.
You’re definitely also suffering from some burnout. Try to take a break from thinking/talking about it for a few days and come back at it with fresh eyes.
Good luck!
I think [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] is very handsome though personally I prefer [name_m]Callum[/name_m] or [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]. I love [name_u]Cal[/name_u] as a nickname, and [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] sounds nice with your other children’s names. It makes me think of the classic singer [name_m]Cab[/name_m] [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] (I think it is spelled like that?) but that’s not at all negative, and I’m not sure how common that association would be for others…
So my thought is, since E is not working, how about matching this baby boys name with his big brothers?
Maybe another “-ton” name could be the tie in (I’m actually drawing a blank aside from [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] but you could use the search tool on this site with that ending).
Or…this might be too much, but…I immediately thought about [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]. It seems like a great style match for your other kids, shares then “ly” sounds of your girls names but still sounds very masculine. Has [name_m]Wes[/name_m] as a great nickname. But it does sound kind of like [name_f]East[/name_f] and [name_u]West[/name_u]. Might be a little much? But maybe also kinda cute?
Other suggestions:
[name_u]Lyle[/name_u] (I feel like this could be the next [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]?)
[name_m]Cassian[/name_m] (I [name_u]Cass[/name_u]-ee-an more than [name_m]Cash[/name_m]-un as the pronunciation, but you could still get [name_m]Cash[/name_m] as a nickname)
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] ([name_m]Dez[/name_m])
[name_m]Niles[/name_m] (I love [name_m]Miles[/name_m] too but this is more unusual)
Last “e” suggestion though it might not be at all your style: [name_m]Enzo[/name_m]. It’s super common in Europe but I’ve never met one in the US. I could see it being a great fit for the baby of the “e” family—though ultimately I think your son will be [name_m]JUST[/name_m] FINE with any letter you choose. Maybe this is a good chance to use a family member’s (non-e) name. I don’t think you need any excuse not to continue the “theme” but maybe you’d feel better about discontinuing it if you find a name with a lot of personal significance. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] the last weeks of your pregnancy go smoothly and I’d love to hear what you decide!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m], not sure if you’ve made a decision yet but I thought I’d share an idea (another person suggested this name too and I think it’s a winner). This is my first ever post on Nameberry (though I’ve been a long-time lurker). I literally created an account so that I can reply to this thread! With your other children’s names I like the name [name_m]Erickson[/name_m]. here’s why:
-
starts with an E. Ok so I totally don’t believe it’s necessary to stick to your theme, but as someone who has a bunch of sibset ideas that fit themes I totally understand the fun in trying to keep it up.
-
is a surname, masculine, familiar but not popular
-
has a similar sound ending to [name_u]Easton[/name_u] but still different enough. And similar in syllable length and ending sound to another name you said you liked ([name_u]Ellington[/name_u]).
-
your daughters’ names have two and three syllables and this would give your sons’ names two and three syllables
-
if you really want to complicate things, [name_u]Easton[/name_u] and Ensley both have six letters and two syllables, and if you spell it [name_m]Erikson[/name_m]/Eriksen or [name_m]Ericson[/name_m]/Ericsen then along with [name_m]Everley[/name_m] they both have seven letters and three syllables.
I think this name sounds great with each individual siblings’ name.
If you don’t like that, [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] is nice, and I really like a previous poster’s suggestion of [name_m]Westley[/name_m] because having sons with nicknames [name_f]East[/name_f] and [name_u]West[/name_u] would, in my book, be comedically adorable but maybe not your style! Anyway that suggestion made me smile. Good luck!!!

if you really want to complicate things (sorry to bring it up, I know this search has already been complicated, I just love when I see patterns) [name_u]Easton[/name_u] and Ensley both have six letters and two syllables and if you spell it [name_m]Erikson[/name_m]/Eriksen or [name_m]Ericson[/name_m]/Ericsen then along with [name_m]Everley[/name_m] they both have seven letters and three syllables.

I love the suggestion of [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Westley[/name_m] for you. I also love [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] but don’t think it goes well with your other children’s names, it is very different in style.
My favorite E names…
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellison[/name_u]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]

[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]
If my kids were [name_m]Everley[/name_m], [name_u]Easton[/name_u], and Ensley, I would name my son either [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], or [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]. It think those go best stylistically while sounding different enough from your kids names
