I’m trying to choose a name that isn’t too ordinary because I don’t want my kid to be one of the many. So these are our top picks for girls, and i’d like to know if you find them ordinary in a bad (boring) way. And also, if you could add how many people with the name you know? I wish my list were a little shorter, i’m sorry!
[name_f]Jada[/name_f], [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], and [name_f]Erin[/name_f] seem too ordinary for what you want. My favorite off the list is either [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] or [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f].
[name_f]Serena[/name_f], [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], and [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] stand out to me in a good way.
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f], although not in the top 1000, will blend in with all of the other [name_f]El[/name_f]- names. [name_f]Jada[/name_f] is too similar to [name_u]Jayden[/name_u], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is too similar to [name_f]Emma[/name_f], and [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] and [name_f]Erin[/name_f] are just dated.
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is my favorite by far. A distant second is [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f], then [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Arwen[/name_f]. The others sound too dated.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] posted on your boys’ list, haha. [name_f]Serena[/name_f], [name_f]Jada[/name_f], [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], [name_f]Erin[/name_f], and [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] I find all very dull. There are some changes you could make, however, that would freshen these up.
I love [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] & [name_f]Serena[/name_f] (and I don’t know any [name_m]IRL[/name_m]). I know one of each [name_f]Jada[/name_f], [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], & [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]. I know several [name_f]Erin[/name_f]'s. I dislike [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] & [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], but I don’t know any either.
Boring and dated:
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Erin[/name_f]
Interesting but too similar to common names:
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] ([name_f]Emma[/name_f])
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] (everything [name_f]El[/name_f])
[name_f]Jada[/name_f] ([name_u]Jaden[/name_u]/[name_u]Jayden[/name_u] et. al.)
Standout:
[name_f]Arwen[/name_f]
Pretty, but possibly dated (it’s hard for me to judge because I know 2 [name_f]Sabrinas[/name_f] age 16-22; [name_f]Serena[/name_f] is maybe attached to the tennis player)
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Jada[/name_f], [name_f]Erin[/name_f], and [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] are all blah to me. I know at least 8 people combined with these names. And they are mostly in their teens/early twenties. The names sound common, overused and becoming dated. Which isn’t what your looking for.
I’m neutral on [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]. It still reminds me of the teenage witch, but it isn’t dated and isn’t very common at the same time.
I’m not a huge of [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], personally. I like gender specific names, and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] doesn’t have a feminine sound to me.
I love [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Serena[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]. I don’t think an [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] would get mixed into the “[name_f]Ella[/name_f]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]” group if you don’t call her that. Its has a much different sound that I think is beautiful. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is so pretty I don’t think it would blend into the Emmas. [name_f]Serena[/name_f] is just beautiful!
