[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! The hubby and I can’t decide on a name for the life of us. He likes [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]. I like [name_m]Liam[/name_m].
We want something unique, yet somewhat traditional…not too out there. Last name is: [name_m]Son[/name_m]
We’re debating between various combinations of either : [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_m]Beckham[/name_m], Brixton, or [name_m]Travis[/name_m].
I think [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] or [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] [name_m]Liam[/name_m] would be a nice compromise between the two of you.
Hmmm - [name_m]Liam[/name_m] is either the #1 or number 2 baby boy name and [name_m]William[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Liam[/name_m]) is in the top 10 too. I would not consider [name_m]Liam[/name_m] unique. It is a great name though - I really like it and understand why so many other people do to but it is definitely not unique.
[name_m]Beckham[/name_m] and Brixton are not my style at all.
I really like [name_m]Travis[/name_m]. It’s a known name but I bet there will be far less [name_m]Travis[/name_m]’ around than there will be [name_m]Liam[/name_m]'s or [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]'s making this one the most unique in today’s baby name world.
[name_m]Travis[/name_m] [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] [name_m]Son[/name_m] gets my vote.
Overall, I think [name_m]Travis[/name_m] and [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] best fit what you describe as your ideal name: “unique, yet somewhat traditional…not too out there.” Personally, I prefer [name_m]Travis[/name_m] to [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]. [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] is just not really my naming style.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] is my favorite out of all the names on your list, but I think it is also (by far) the most common of your choices.
[name_m]Beckham[/name_m] and Brixton, are also not my style, but I think they are your most unique choices (particularly Brixton, I don’t think I’ve ever heard it before. [name_m]Beckham[/name_m] makes me think very strongly of the football/soccer player).
I agree with others that [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_m]Liam[/name_m] sound good together–so that could be a way to use both your favorites (unless you maybe want to save one in case you have another son in the future?).
I know a little [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]! I really love that name. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t let popularity deter you if you really love a name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] the top name is only a very very small percentage of boys. I only know one [name_m]Liam[/name_m] under the age of 10 and about 10 Jacks.
Brixton is a prison famous for its human rights abuses just outside of [name_u]London[/name_u]. It’s also a ghetto. I don’t recommend it as a choice unless you want your son associated with those things.
