Bumping for evening views
I’d honestly have picked [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] as my favourite name, and it’s good you both like it, but it sounds to me like he likes all of the options (except [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] so I’d cross it off), but you love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] best.
[name_f]Juno[/name_f], while you both like it, I really feel it doesn’t go with your sibset, and it honestly sounds like you like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] more! I just can’t see [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f], while [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] feels just right or [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] also works well.
So long story short, I’d rule out [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f] - the two names one of you isn’t convinced by. I would then rule out [name_f]Juno[/name_f] as I think it just doesn’t go well with your sibset. Which leaves you with [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], two names you both really like. Meet the little one then pick!
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is my favorite from your list for your sibset - you needn’t second guess yourself! Based on your description, [name_f]Juno[/name_f] would be my #2.
All the names on your list fit well with your other children, but [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] does feel a bit different given its length. If you are still looking for other options, [name_u]Josie[/name_u] popped out at me as a mix between [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f].
Thanks for both of your feedback!
I think the only reason I second guess [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is because I’m not getting enough excitement from my husband on it. I just need to keep reminding myself that he just doesn’t get super excited about any girl name.
Of course… all my stressing over our girl name, and this babe will probably be a boy anyway.
[name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and/or [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] and [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]!
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Margo[/name_f]!
I adore both names and they have a great sort of familiar but off beat feel to them.
Out of all the choices I liked [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] the most. Maybe your husband will go for a compromise? You’re really sold on [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] (and it sounds so romantic and soft, and the Mavie/Mavey nickname for it might catch on, adding a bouncy feel to a classic).
[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] for me. And congratulations on [name_u]Baby[/name_u] # 3!
I voted [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] it ages well
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]!
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] feels a bit silly to me. Like it’s not a real name and people will be over it in 10 years.
Also, I just have to add, I love that you named your daughter [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]. It’s so sweet and lovely. I’m hoping for a comeback.
as much as I adore [name_f]Juno[/name_f], I think you are right - there are others on the list that “go” better. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] are perfection next to [name_m]Linus[/name_m] and [name_f]Betsy[/name_f],
I voted for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] before reading the original post. It’s still my favorite name on the list, but it doesn’t go as well w/[name_m]Linus[/name_m] & [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]. The previous suggestion of [name_u]Josie[/name_u]/[name_f]Josey[/name_f] would work well [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] also goes well w/[name_m]Linus[/name_m] & [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]. For me [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is way too elderly & [name_f]Juno[/name_f] & [name_f]Margo[/name_f] too different in feel to work w/[name_f]Betsy[/name_f], but that’s just me. Choose your favorite & good luck!
My personal favorite is sweet [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], but I love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] for your family!
Thank you! I think its just the perfect little vintage-y name. Not surprisingly, H liked-but did not love- [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] either. Until we named her, and now he knows I was right all along. ( <– why he should just let me name our children on my own). Haha :o)
