I have always been so excited about names until now that I am actually going to be naming my own baby in about 7 weeks!
After months of fretting, my DH and I have finally agreed on a few names for each gender. While I haven’t managed to get my first choices onto our negotiated list, I have to admit that the list resembles my original lists much more so than my DH’s original lists.
I would really appreciate any thoughts & comments and some help with middle names.
Thanks for your help! I want to be so excited and love the name that we give our baby but it is just feeling stressful at the moment.
I like [name]Amaia[/name] but personally prefer [name]Amaya[/name].
Maybe you’d like [name]Amelie[/name] nn [name]Millie[/name]? Also, [name]Millicent[/name], [name]Emilie[/name], [name]Milena[/name]…
[name]Love[/name] [name]Stella[/name], or [name]Estelle[/name]/[name]Estella[/name] nn [name]Stella[/name]. [name]Stella[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] is cute, but probably super hipster-y.
Of your boy names I like [name]Hugo[/name] best, by far. I like [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Vincent[/name].
Maybe you’d also like [name]Milo[/name] or [name]Amos[/name]?
[name]Amaia[/name] [Uh-my-uh] - This one could cause issues with pronounciation.
_? (nn [name]Millie[/name]) - Great nn, I like it as a name by itself, but how about [name]Amelia[/name] with the nn [name]Millie[/name]?
[name]Stella[/name] - Pretty, I really like [name]Stella[/name] it has some sass to it!
[name]Eden[/name] (nn [name]Edie[/name]) - I have only ever heard this on a boy, I really like [name]Edie[/name] though.
[name]Tate[/name] - Handsome, I have always liked this name.
[name]Lincoln[/name] - Great name, seems pretty popular lately.
[name]Hugo[/name] - This one is great, it’s handsome and underused imo.
thanks judyariel for all of the time you put into the middle names. I finally got my DH to look at nameberry to see all of your suggestions! now to see if we agree on any of them…not going to hold my breath!
emsky - Worried we might get ‘uh may uh’ rather than ‘uh my uh’ if we spell it [name]Amaya[/name] rather than [name]Amaia[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you know anyone with the name? It would be good to know about pronunciation woes she may have encountered. As far as I know it is a Basque name; a friend of a friend from there had a daughter named [name]Amaia[/name] (but I am not sure how she spelled it).
