Hi!
I have a [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and an [name_u]Eli[/name_u]. Looking for girls and boys names to suit.
We have an long surname that can’t be pronounced by most, so I lean towards short, simple names, but don’t want anything too common either.
My ideas so far:
Billy
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_u]Jesse[/name_u]
Belle
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
I prefer [name_m]Judah[/name_m] to [name_u]Jude[/name_u] but think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] would make a lovely addition though its quite common compared to your boys
Billy-I love [name_u]Billy[/name_u]. It’s just friendly & sporty & simple & lovable. I find it too nick-namey on its own though. [name_m]William[/name_m] nn [name_u]Billy[/name_u] would be great.
Jude-I love [name_u]Jude[/name_u] too. And it’s also really nice w/Hugo & [name_u]Eli[/name_u]. Short, sweet, polished, gentle yet masculine.
Jesse-This is cute. I used to not like this name, but it’s growing on me lately. It’s got such a cool slightly cowboy guy vibe. It’s unexpected w/Hugo & [name_u]Eli[/name_u], but totally works.
A few more boy ideas that you may like-
Archer
Arthur
Arlo
Alec
Charlie
Finn
George
James
Jonah
Kit
Leo
Max
Milo
Martin/Marty
Otis
Peter
Simon
Girls-
Belle-This is quite nice. Definitely short & simple. Feminine, polished & smart but sweet.
Anna-This is nice. A little boring, honestly, but a good solid classic.
Claudia-Meh, this is not my favorite. I’m not quite sure why. It’s a totally fine name. I just think that it sounds a little bit heavy.
Theodora-This is just lovely. It’s strong & interesting & feminine w/out being frilly. It’s certainly not short or simple. I think that just [name_f]Thea[/name_f] on its own totally works though, if you like that.
Juliet-That’s pretty. A little fancy, but very pretty & elegant & romantic.
The first name to come to mind with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_u]Eli[/name_u] is [name_u]Max[/name_u]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe [name_m]Gable[/name_m]?
I second the suggestions of [name_f]Thea[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u] for a girl.
I think [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] might be a bit too similar. I like how [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_u]Eli[/name_u] go nicely together but still each have their own vibe.
What both names have in common are:
equally balanced 2 syllable names
one vowel in each syllable
ends in vowel
no constonant dipthongs
Names that fit the above characteristics:

Enzo
Milo *
Otto
Bodi / [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u] *
Luca
Remy
Names that follow most of the above characteristics:
Wow! Thanks everyone for taking the time to for the amazing responses!! I’ve added lots of your suggestions to my lists.
I actually had [name_u]June[/name_u] at the top of my girls list but forgot to put it in this list, so the fact that a few of you suggested it made me so happy that it fits nicely!
It’s so difficult when you have a long messy surname that needs to be spelt out and pronounced.
I’ll let you know what we go with. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] due [name_u]March[/name_u], but we’re not finding out the gender. I assume it’s a boy though!
I like [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. They are short, classic, and they would go well with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_u]Eli[/name_u].
